"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

When I'm with a woman, everything feels easy. Talk slower and slightly deeper, flirt, tease, banter, have a deep conversation, connect, the verbal and non-verbal communication is solid.

Once I have the phone number, I'll send her something like:
Me: Hello (name)! Cool meeting you. (call back humor!) Andre
(most of the time) Her: It was good/great meeting you to

From there on out, I feel powerless. Texting women are not my strong suit, I'm a 24 year old guy and I sound like a try hard 19 year old who tries funny "pings" to make them text, and after some time... the number goes cold. I enjoy phoning women to quickly chat and set up a date, but after the phone call I'm back to square one (ignore texting or texting until the date).

Does anyone have some solid advice for me with how they handle phone numbers.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

No. Texting is bullsh!t. I hate it to. The only relief I have found is to ask so many girls for thier # that when I bomb on one I just learn and try again.

Actual advice; you'll hate me for this... try and be yourself. The only sucess I have had in the "messaging" game was when I didnt give sh!t and said whatever I wanted. Sometimes I was, longwinded, sweet, crazy, and sometimes I did just feel like ignoring her. None of this works all the time either. I also am so much better on the phone or even better in person. If you learn anything please share.

Start off slow, like you did, and then text with a purpose, which is to ask her out. At the beginning, this is your 100% primary goal. After, it gets easier, because you'll be building rapport, and you'll have teases from the dates to fall back on. But for the first phase, which is to get her on a date, don't even worry about fluff talk, jokes, weather, or "have a great days" when you text. You do NOT have to be Mr. Nice. Just throw it in after a few days of that first introductory test. Do not jerk off with bullshıt texts.

Sample:

"Hey what's shakin?? I'm thinking we should grab a coffee/drink...when are you free? I can do XXXXday or XXXXday?" And wait. Do not double text. If nothing happens and she ignores you, DELETE immediately.

Trust me, she knows what's up, and she'll either bite, refuse, or flake. Keep it simple, keep your expectations at zero.

Good luck.

These are great tips. My .02 about the reason why these chics drop dead after you text them: These women already know that you are an easy-going, flirting, funny guy to hang out with after the date. So when it's about the follow-up, they don't want Mr. Funny, they want to be sure that you're a a man "worthy of their time" (we agree it's the other way around, but this is the Cosmo jargon). Be casual, acting like it's no big deal, but by all means drop the fluffy clown stuff, and you should be fine.

Okay thanks guys. I appreciate it. Will try out the advice going forward.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
