Phone call problem: She BS'd (i think)

Alrighty guys, I #closed on this girl during my college orientation, and it turns out she was for real when she gave me her number! No fakes no nothing.I decided to give it a shot since its been 2 days or something. Nothing needy, nothing crazy, just a nice phone chat. Turns out it wasn't that way.

So I call and no one picks up and I leave a simple message saying something like "hey this is ______ , the guy you met and danced with at the orientation! just drop a line and ill call you back later" (turns out i was the only one that actually #closed her from the dance)

anyway, she calls back the second after, probably got the phone late. i pick up and i say:

me:"heyy how's it going?"
her:"hii, whos this?"
me:"remember that cool asian guy you danced with @ the orientation"
her:"ohh~ hey"
we talk for another minute or something
her:"hey ill call you back a little later."

end of convo. it was shorter than i thought, and i didnt even get to say much really. at this point im considering this as a rejection and i dont plan on calling back til later.

What do you DJs suggest I do now? Should I just move on and if she calls back then make something happen or should I just go for it and call her later and just chat? (she lives near the school and im like an hour and a half away from the campus, so meeting up is rather complicated) This sounds either AFC or really simplistic, but I feel kind of lost right now; must review bible! in the meantime, can you djs help me out here?

can someone at least give me some criticism or feedback on this matter? I know many have answered this but if that's the case then a simple answer can be most helpful!

should i wait for a call, should i call her back, or just next her?

Says it all really, after the hi this is the nice guy u met at orientation should of been a line like -> are you free this "insert day/time etc here" to do "whatever"

Unless your friends -> Arrange the date or at least mention one if she is busy at moment or something :whistle:

If you ask me, your work there is done. She said she'll call back. If she was interested she WILL! If she doesn't ... well you get it.

Move on and don't look back. For all you know she just might catch you off guard sometime soon with a phonecall. ;)

Riiiight...listen to what a chick says. That makes perfect sense! :rolleyes:

For a girl to call back after that lame ass convo, her interest level has to be sky high or you have to be Brad Pitt.

Call her one more time, but keep it short. Something like :

"Hi, it's the asian kid. blabla"
...
1 min chit chat
...
"I'll be heading to X-location on mon/tue/wed/thurs (NOT ON THE WEEKEND)...How about you join me?"

Keep it nice and simple.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

She doesn't need sky high interest, she just needs interest period. If dancing with her didn't do the trick then making ANOTHER lame call definitely wont either.

But Centaurion, does have a point, another call can't hurt if you still want to give it a shot.

hahah for sure vp171, and other guys, I know I wasnt the best at leaving the message (Which i will work on so relax fellas), but meeting up with her is the problem here.

she lives like an hour and a half away from where I am so suggesting she come down here to chill with me would probably be like "lol wtf are you kidding me?"

also at this point im assuming it's low interest, so im gonna move on but im gonna call her up tomorrow or day after to set a plan; if she says no or gives me a crappy excuse then i'm moving on and deleting the number!

Your wrong here! In the beginning its VITAL to create great rapport which will lead to a high interest level. This will make the phone calls and everything that follows that much easier for the guy. However if the girl doesn't have that high an interest level, she won't bother calling back because she most likely has many other options to choose from. If he calls again he really has nothing to lose. You figure if the girl has already rejected him, then calling again won't make it any worse for him. However, based on the initial conversation it doesn't look promising.

But Centaurion, does have a point, another call can't hurt if you still want to give it a shot.

Well said by vp171s....at this point I'd say it's over - she was probably being her normal "tease" attention-whoring self at the time and did what "they" do. approach it as such and call again. If it bombs then f*ck it, if it wasn't going to bomb she would have called you back. Might as well get yourself some closure

Well fellas, here's the latest SURPRISING update!

I was at 6 flags with my church friends, and right when I get there, guess who gives a call? HB8!
I was kinda surprised, esp. by what vp171s said, since she did call back; LUCKILY I WASNT AFC ENOUGH TO CALL BACK AND ASK "WHY DIDNT YOU CALL ME BACK!" the day before...WHooooo, that would've been messy...

So anyway, her reason for not being able to call back right away was due to some family issues lately so I figured I might as well buy the reason..(or excuse hehe) and she says she'll keep in touch and what not. I really don't have much to lose here guys so whenever I "can" (as in live the life and just call her to let the excitement rub off), and any time I contact her I'll be sure to build the rapport fellas, that message I left on her phone was a lame one, but conversations aren't THAT challenging :)

So it wasn't really BS after all~
