"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Before you read my thread, if you reply, please don't say anything like "AFC" or "u still like her" or anything like that, since both assumptions are wrong. :D

When this past school year started, I liked some chick and I was really sure she liked me back. We had our ups and downs before (no relationships though), but I felt really good about this one - many signs were present, like always talking to me, wanting me to come to her v-ball games, etc. So, I walked right up to her one day in school, asked her out (much more informal though, like "we should hang out.") and she said yes - and to talk to her later that day. So, at the end of the school day, we met up and she said she'll go anywhere, but she had to get to practice and we'll continue to talk. To make a long story short, after that moment, she went on to block my screenname, avoid me in school (includes friends blocking her too) and would rather hide behind parked cars than have me even see her.

When this happened, I said "next" and haven't talked to her since. Now I know I will never, ever go out with her for various reasons (one being that she has some issues), I realized something that may happen if she still apparently hates me...

...she could possibly start hurting my rep somehow, even if she is lying about it. Word in my school spreads fast.

You see, this girl has some social proof (not the most, but some). She also talks a lot and can be somewhat emotional at times (like T.O.), so if she starts saying sh*t about me (again, even if it's not true) to other girls, I am in trouble.

So what I was planning on doing is just going up to her one day when her closest friends aren't around and briefly explain the situation and ask if she wants to change her ways and we'd get along like we do before OR if she jsut wants me to roll over and die. Whatever decision she makes, it doesn't really matter to me - if I even acknowledge the situation, I look like the good guy here, since some of her other friends even think she's acting real weird towards me for some unknown reason.

So while I made it seem this is a little bit of a deal (the outcome), it actually doesn't affect me too much. I will NEVER even try to go out with her again, but since we both have some of the same friends and this whole thing is just very odd, I want everything to be normal. It's like a Cold War - she's fighting it against herself, but it's a little noticable at times.

P.S. I may bring a friend or two that she doesn't know (they would be a few feet back, pretending they don't know either of us nor the situation) so if she goes out of control, I got some backup lol. Also, you must keep in mind that I have much better composure when talking than she does. She will give too much away during a conversation through body language and can get real nervous (h*ll, she look scared when she sees me in the halls lol).

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Befriend her friends. They know shes sketchy so if she starts a rumor, theyre going to have your back. Then, confront her face to face. Dont be an ass, but be firm and strong.

Well, I do know her outer core of good friends, and some of them know about this. There really is no way to turn her closest group of friends on my side - her best guy friend, who I know, isn't talking a part in this.

As for when I talk to her, I'll stick to my stance and go with it. She'll show signs of nervousness quickly and I'll take advatage of it (by being firm and confident of course).

This is more or less a "bump" but I feel Wednesday is my best shot if I try this, because of our rotating schedules. There is a chance I see her tomorrow though, if we cross in the halls.

And just one thing to keep in mind - it's not like I HAVE to do this or anything. I am not going out of my way to talk to her or anything...if she's in my path and I see her, then I'll do it.
