Peace Corps or Americorps

Has anyone served in the Peace Corps or Americorps?

If so, can you share your experiences in the Peace Corps or Americorps programs?

I really like the idea of them and cannot wait to join the Americorps and Peace Corps later on in life.

I was in AmeriCorps N*CCC, stationed in Denver, CO. I'll be honest. It sucked ass, BIG time. However, most of the other volunteers seemed to enjoy it and the educational award at the end isn't bad. Not to mention, it looks very good on any resume. I had some good life experiences, and in the end I don't regret it. But yeah. I hated most of the work we had to do.

yes, tell me what kind of work that you had to do. I am planning on doing the maximum two tours after college.

I want to hear what kind of work that must be done. I like the idea of the free health care and the work never sounded that bad. I lived out in the boondocks of PA. I am just wondering where you did most of your work like in the city or in the country.

Plus, what was the kind of money did you recieve per month. I heard of a small monthly allowance.

I just want to know.
