"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Alright so theres there awesome girl that I met and we've been hanging out together for a week. It's been going good but her mom says she can't be with a guy unless another friend of her is there. How do you suggest I get some alone time with her?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

ouch. id at least try to make good with the mother. give it time - its cool that her mom cares about her safety. establish yourself as a mature, stable, independent and well-off young man. earn her trust.

in the mean time, a certain kind of double date could help. for starters, only take one of your closest, most trusted friends. this way, you know he wont get in between you and your girl, interrupting your game. secondly, something like ice skating would be cool.

its a ton of fun, and most rinks are big enough, to allow your friend to take his date AWAY from you and yours. have him go on the other side, that way youre isolated; so itll feel as if you two are alone. even though technically her friend IS there, to make her mom happy. and since your friend will be doing his job of keeping the friend away, you two wont feel awkward.

imo double dates usually arent a good idea in the initial phases, but in your situation it could be a lifesaver.

Go to the movies on a double-date and have your friend and his date sit on the opposite side of the theatre. It's dark and, even though other people might disagree, I think it's a good place to make out. And, hell, if you don't mind the other people in the theatre it's more or less private. Sit in the back.

Tip, though...go to a movie that's been out for a while so there won't be that many other people in the theatre. Seeing you two making out in the back row unnerves some people, even though they should mind their own fvcking business and watch the damn movie.

But I agree with strong like bull, make sure you are the model of politeness to her mom. Help out when you're there, don't swear, mind your manners, and get on her good side. She'll be more likely to trust you to be out on your own with her daughter.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
