"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Okay, here's the deal!

Yesterday, I was feeling like crap. A lot of stuff had come on my path and I just didn't really feel like much of it was going to sort itself out.
Last night, I had to go to another city, to check out a room which I could possibly rent. I had agreed with some girl and a friend of mine I know in that city, that I would stop by for a quick drink, and that I would then go check out the room, which was only 5 minutes away from there.
So, I went there, and it wasn't my kind of room. I'm tall, so my bed is longer than standard sized beds and my bed wouldn't even fit in the room. Tough luck. I go back to this girl's house, and they invite me to go party. It's late. I'm feeling like hell. But I'm thinking, hey, why not? Let's do it.

Making that decision however, also meant that I would have to sleep in the girl's room.
I had an absolute BLAST partying. Lots of flirting, lots of fun, lots of new people to meet, everything. But, I stayed faithful to my girlfriend. I didn't do anything with any other girl, other than lift the girl I knew up and carry her through the streets because she was walking too slow, and a few other harmless, fun things.

The next morning my girlfriend calls me. And I suddenly get scared.
She didn't even know I was going out. How the hell do I explain that I'm sleeping in some girl's room? After a few times of calling, I decide to answer the phone. So, I tell her I went out. I didn't tell her I slept at that girl's place yet, because she was apparently busy at work and only had two or three minutes to talk.
Later today, she calls me again. So, I tell her that I just got back from that other city, and now I'm back home again and the weather is absolutely horrible. She suddenly reacts "Oh? You slept over there then?", "Yeah, but" and then she hung up on me.
I call her back. I'm pretty pissed because this way I can't even explain that I'm being faithful and all that. She doesn't answers. I send her two texts, explaining everything, but with a "Come on, stop acting childish" underlying message.

And now... I'm feeling crappy again. Not that crappy, but crappy nevertheless. I was actually thinking of lying to her, but I decided to tell the truth. And then it bit me in the ass.

What the hell am I going to do about this?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Quit trying to contact her. When she behaves like an ass, don't reward her with attention. Go on living your life. She'll call you when she's ready to act like a mature human being.

As for sleeping in someone else's bed and being faithful, you didn't do nothing wrong. You have nothing to explain.

I agree on the first point. She's overreacting. You did good by being honest as if you weren't then things could have been bad. You had nothing to hide so being honest was your best bet.

However, she has a right to be mad. I would be pissed at my girl if she went out to a dif. town, partyed it up, and slept in some guys room. And all of you guys know you would to. I don't care how secure you are.

But, it's not a biggie. Let her be pissed, hopefully she'll grow up about it and in a few weeks thing will be normal. Just don't make it a habit if you want to stay with this girl.

should it really take her a few weeks to get over something like this? i go thru this alot. y'know: 1) have your girl question you, 2) you tell her something that she doesn't want to hear, 3) she gets defensive, 4) you try to explain that things aren't what they seem, 5) she hangs up before you get out the 3rd word, 6) you call back and she doesn't answer...

I think she's gonna go out and do something similar or worse, but women never kiss and tell everything. she sounds insecure, so she already doesn't trust you. if you had not answered that phone, she would've attacked you for that, then the results still woulda been the same. But my question is, would it really take her weeks to get back to normal??
