Opinion on multi gyms?

Ok i posted earlier asking what i needed to work out at home etc and you said all i really need is a weight set and squat rack however my parents feel that this is porbably dangerous and they dont want me to kill myself and i appreciate my parents point of view, they showed me a 'multi gym' in argos. I'm not very familiar with these and want to ask what is your opinion on these, are they good for building mass efficiently? Can they do all the excercises needed for a full body workout?

Get a power rack along with the bench and weights.

Power Racks were built to keep you safe - mine saves my life every time I workout! :p

what i feared lol.... I have no problem with getting a power rack and weights, however trying to convince my parents is another matter.

Yeah. Machines is never a substitute. It's just arguing for a week until they say yes. =)

Your muscles don't know the difference between machines and free weights. I wouldn't just use all free weights or all machines. Variety is key.

It depend on the way you look at it... machines will use much less muscles than free weights. I see no problem using only free weights as long as you change the exercises around. When it boils down to it, machines ****ing sucks. :up: I only use them for calves raises. Show me a machine which is better than the equivalent free weight exercise.
