Openning the door for her

What is your take on this. My girlfriend likes this sorta thing, and I don't have a problem with it. I just haven't done it for her, so I if I started it might be a little ackward. What do you guys think?

I open the door for girls in general.....I don't expect anything in return, not even a thank you.....it's something thats just built into me......alot of the time i don't even look them in the eye when i do it cus i don't wanna give them the impression that i'm an AFC, it's just something i do for myself

There are somethings you can't go wrong with, this includes opening doors for women.

Other classy behaviours include walking on the road side. Just don't make a big deal out of it. As long you're not doing the calling everyday thing, flowers, teddy bears and proclaiming your undying love it's all good.

If you don't do this all the time, then do it on special occassions.

If you've just recently talked about, and you want to, then wait a period of time and then do it. It's better for trivial things that you NEVER always give her what she wants it when she wants it all the time.

Opening the door is a good thing, it shows that you have some manners and the feminists hate that. Also pulling out her chair in a resturant shows you have some class.

On the other hand some guys take it a step farther when they place their nice jacket on a puddle of water so the chick will not get her shoes wet ( This is an AFC behaviour).

I open doors.

And in a crowded space, I move men, and me, if a girl is passing by.

I do it in a way that neither the door or the men have a say in this aspect.

Maybe a nod, like, you move first, no smile...

She knows I have the choice to do it or not,

I choose to do it,

As it is easier for me to open the door, ar make my way through,

And am willing to share my power with her, for the few seconds of interaction, as I have the luxury of being able to share.


This may not make sense, but with this mindset,

The woman knows you are not doing it to please her, you just do it because you feel like it, and she happens to be there.

This one comes under the larger heading of "Manners". I've been told by several women that guys with manners are very sexy e.g. a "southern gentleman".

Try this one: When approaching your car, go out of your way to unlock and open her door first. And while you're at it, clean your friggin' car too. It's no big deal. A couple of bucks at a self-service place and vacuum the inside.

Or this one: If you came in separate cars, walk her back to hers before you leave.

P.S. I'm a junior in college, have higher grades than you do, and have already worked for several multi-national corporations, I don't think you have anything on me when it comes to living in the "real world".

If I'm walking and they happen to be close behind me (checking out my ass of course), I just keep my arm out back a little longer to hold it until they get in.

If they're in front, I just let them get the door. I'm not a ****ing bellhop.

If they're behind quite a distance, maybe 4-5 strides, I just open the door and keep going.

WTF IS SO HARD PEOPLE. YOU JUST GO WITH WHAT'S COMFORTABLE. IT'S LIKE EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE IT DONE TO PLEASE THE WOMEN. WHAT THE ****. SERIOUSLY JUST WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON. IT'S A ****ING DOOR OPEN IT, WALK THROUGH LIKE "LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT" AND GO WHERE YOU'RE GOING.
