Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.
The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.
Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
You're an idiot if you do this.Freddy1 said:She has become a ONEitis with me.
I have known her for awhile. Its not a logical rational thing. Its an emotional thing. Shes very different from all the others girls in my life. She has been very supportive of me in the past as well. I went to pick up girls yesterday trying to throw the feeling off but I had no emotion for them.Giovanni Casanova said:You're an idiot if you do this.
Don't be an idiot.
That's why it's a bad idea.Freddy1 said:I have known her for awhile. Its not a logical rational thing. Its an emotional thing.
You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.
Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.
She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.
Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.
Freddy1 said:Dont get me wrong sex with multiple women is great. Sex is not the issue I have. I could get sex. I dont think most guys in their 20's or early 30's can or will understand my situation.
Heres my situation.
I realize I am getting old. I have no kids, no wife. No one to support me.
I have some serious medical condition. To be honest with you I have tumors in my body and have to go to be operated upon. I might DIE.
The pickup scene might be nice but I cant see myself in the future as a lonely old man (No kids, no wife etc) lying at the hospital at my death bed.
I dont want to necessairly Die alone.
I want someone who will be there for me. Believe me if I could slow down time I would. nature is not forgiving. Sooner or later everyone has to come to grip to their own mortality.
It has nothing to do "about a complete life".KillaCam said:And you think getting involved with a bed-hopper will make your life complete?
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
You have a horribly negative frame of mind.Freddy1 said:Looking at all the divorces and fail marriages vs. dying all alone in a hospital.
I want someone who can be there. Someone who I have known for awhile and has supported me emotionally in my life.
And it's that mentality that will lead you down a horrible path my friend. I can understand that you want security and hapiness for what could be the final stages of life, but there are other ways of finding it.Freddy1 said:I'm just afraid.
I need to think of the future too.
He's got a point.Giovanni Casanova said:You're an idiot if you do this.
The only reason you're considering this open relationship bullsh*t is because it allows you to be closer to the object of your obsession.
It's not any different from the chump who tries to become the girl's best friend and shoulder-to-cry-on because he tells himself that he would "rather be her friend than nothing at all", all the while he lusts after her and hopes that one day she will see how great and sensitive he is and she will run into his arms like life is one big motherf*cking John Hughes movie, which it is most certainly not.
The only difference in this case is that you may be able to get a little bit of ass, but that is only going to f*ck you up worse because you're so into this girl. An open relationship would only be a good idea if you were only in it for physical pleasure and could remain emotionally distant. You can't do that, because you're not even IN the relationship and you're already self-admittedly "one-itising" this girl.
Don't be an idiot.
