You need some hand holding if you think etrade is a good broker. Go to elitrader.com and start a thread that says 'I think etrade is a good broker.' It will be a laff riot.
They execute your order away from the market and take a spread on it. You aren't aware of how much money they are costing you in bad fills.

I really think that anybody forced to adapt to the E-trade platform via merger from another brokerage would run in a flash. If the fees don't get you, the commissions will. And not to mention the poor fills. I have NO IDEA how E-trade managed to get 4.7 million accounts, goes to show you the stupidity of the average investor.

And of those 4.7 million, about 4.2 million probably have no business buying individual stocks anyway. Going to a better broker is going to be an exercise of penny-wise, and pound-foolish for 90% of people.Bible_Belt said:
