"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

it seems to me lately, im always the one messaging girls first on or initating all the talking and stuff. How can i change it around little bit, and pull them into initiating some stuff?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

If she thinks that talking to you will result in more pleasure than pain, then she will try and talk to you.

stop initiating and go improve yourself

i used to have the same problem. then one day i decided i'm not going to try initiating anymore convos with these chicks i already know and go out and do approaches. while i started meeting new people, the chicks i usually initiated convos with (i guess) got to wondering why i wasn't talking to them anymore...maybe built mystery? ...and at the same time you work on yourself in becoming a better man, and they will not only initiate, but offer to take you out. perfect ex: a friend of mine, a girl...i put her on ignore for a while, now she keeps on calling me and offering to hang out ever since i've bettered myself as a man.

so, basically, don't initiate anymore. spend that time to improve yourself. in the meanwhile the ones that give a **** will wonder why you ignore them, and if you have improved yourself, you will become attractive to them. (and those that never care to get back in contact with you...don't even look at them or waste your breath...) there's a quote, i think dmx said it in a song, and it goes something like: "if you love something let it go, if it comes back it's yours, if it doesn't, it never was"

well i know EXACTLY what this is about... because one time i did a study for myself, as i'm sure you know about MSN, which included me deleting EVERYONE off my list and just leaving it on 24/7.

And to my surprise (not) NO one responded outside of my best friend, my female friend and another guy... only 3 people out of the original amount of people i talked to on a regular basis actually took the liberty to say ANYTHING.

and this was over the course of 2 weeks... it took them 2 weeks to say anything to me, but i still do wish i knew why that is... cuz it still happens

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
