I'm curious: We sometimes joke that women who’ve been through difficult experiences/damaged end up becoming ‘cat moms’ in their 30s. But what if someone already becomes a cat mom in their 20s? Would that mean the same pattern shows up earlier, or is there something else going on? I believe there might be a deeper explanation.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Dog moms are the new cat moms
My version of cat mom would be simply, a woman who has more then one cat minimum 2 and treats her cats as kids, or joke about them as being the same as having kids, maybe also emotionally favouring to investing in them: Lets playfully saying, someone tries to talk to me but i have my alone time with my cats. Is that what you were looking for a response for?
I believe there is no difference though, but statistically 4% more woman have cats as a Pet though

priority cats over humans. ok. i have cats, they deal with rats really well in the farms and around the houses. they sleep with the dogs and eat from the same bins. the joke is about the cats being just another dog that can climb.
i have seen old people both men and women that will priority pets over humans. probably due to things going poorly with humans...
i would think if the girl is young and priority cats over humans she likely had poor relations with humans. cause of that is many things...
i don't see men do this often, it happens but not as common.
women live in the social wavelengths more. if that is broken it affects them more. many men can deal with it and simply isolate or stoic and be fine or hide it better.
i would not immediately discard due to couple cats. its common to get 2 so they can play together. 5+, that's getting extreme...
