"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Hey, thought I would get y'all's take on this situation. I considered putting it in the high school forum, but w/e. It's a little long, I realize. :(

BACKGROUND: I go to college a few hours away from my home. I renounced my AFC ways back in October.

Over Christmas Break, I met this girl who was one of my younger sister's friends. Let's call her *Jill*. I flirted with Jill somewhat (along with pretty much all the other girls we were with), and Jill came onto me pretty strong during the short time we were hanging out. I ran her again a couple weeks later, before I returned to college, and she acted not quite as strongly but still responded favorably.

I went back to college and about a month later got and email from my sister asking if I remembered Jill and if I wanted to go with her to their school's prom. (They're both seniors in high school.) I said yeah, later got contacted via email by Jill herself, and we exchanged some emails.

When Spring Break rolled around, I went home. Right when I got back I hung out with my sister, Jill, and a couple of their other friends. It was their idea. We watched a couple movies and Jill sat next to me (again, her idea), and there was some decent kino.

I was in town for a whole week so about 4-5 days later when I was getting a little bored I tried calling her up. She was busy all week involved in school, various tasks, and play practice, and basically just not available. (I didn't talk to her personally, but her mom said she wasn't home.) Anyway, the weekend rolls around and the play that she's been involved with comes out. My sister and I go to see it, and later my brother, sister, and I get invited to the "cast party" at a restaurant. Basically the whole time we're out, tho, Jill is ignoring me. I try to just not let myself be bothered with it, and I flirt somewhat with other girls at the party (several of whom show IOIs).

I actually came down with some sort of flu the last few days I was at home so we couldn't really have done a whole lot more anyway. After about three weeks of not seeing/communicating with her, she sends me another couple of emails. I tell her we should hang out when I'm next in town, and she emails me her cell #.

Fast forward to Easter Vacation. I called Jill up on Friday to see if she wanted to get together. I didn't realize that she was actually still at school tho so I told her I'd call her back when she got out. She was real warm/friendly on the phone but said that she and some friends were going to shop for prom dresses right after school. I waited 'til the evening to call her back because I figured she would be done and Friday would be the best time to hang out. She said they were still out and they were going to go get dinner when they got done shopping. This second time on the phone she didn't sound as warm and friendly. I told her I'd be in town only 'til Sunday (Easter) and that she should call me tomorrow (Saturday). I don't like to wait for girls to call, but I sure as hell wasn't calling her up three times in one weekend. I hung out with some other friends Friday and Saturday and haven't heard from Jill since.

Anyway, although I've somewhat liked this girl since I met her, I've gotten pretty annoyed with her flakiness. If I weren't technically still her prom date, I probably would have just nexted her by this point.

From what I've told you, would you guys say that I made wrong moves? This girl is a couple years younger than me. Do you think maybe that's why she acts so silly?

Sorry about the long post. I don't mean to sound overly hung up over this, but her behavior has rather puzzled me. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Firstly, you're not technically her anything. She own you? Her having a vagina makes her flaky by default so that's not the issue. The issue looks to be if you have to bleed every 28 days. She's in high school youngblood. Let some pimplefaced puke pick up her check.

Live the quote . . .

I'm just saying that if I hadn't already agreed to go with her to her dance (it would be pretty obnoxious to bail on her this late), I would probably just say to hell with her. Of course, even if I did next her, the situation still warrants analysis, I think.
