There are a lot of articles and discussions about POWER on these forums; I think the general consensus is that "power" is a quality desired by DJ's.

But what is power?

Before you can ever achieve anything, you must first understand WHAT you are trying to achieve. So I will discuss what "power" is, the different types of power, and how to use the different types of power for your own advantage.

Defining Power

Dictionary.com has a LOT of definitions for the word:

The ability or capacity to perform or act effectively.
A specific capacity, faculty, or aptitude. Often used in the plural: her powers of concentration.
Strength or force exerted or capable of being exerted; might. See Synonyms at strength.
The ability or official capacity to exercise control; authority.
A person, group, or nation having great influence or control over others: the western powers.
The might of a nation, political organization, or similar group.
Forcefulness; effectiveness: a novel of unusual power.
Chiefly Upper Southern U.S. A large number or amount. See Regional Note at powerful.

The energy or motive force by which a physical system or machine is operated: turbines turned by steam power; a sailing ship driven by wind power.
The capacity of a system or machine to operate: a vehicle that runs under its own power.
Electrical or mechanical energy, especially as used to assist or replace human energy.
Electricity supplied to a home, building, or community: a storm that cut off power to the whole region.
Physics. The rate at which work is done, expressed as the amount of work per unit time and commonly measured in units such as the watt and horsepower.
Electricity.
The product of applied potential difference and current in a direct-current circuit.
The product of the effective values of the voltage and current with the cosine of the phase angle between current and voltage in an alternating-current circuit.
Mathematics.
See exponent.
The number of elements in a finite set.
Statistics. The probability of rejecting the null hypothesis where it is false.
A measure of the magnification of an optical instrument, such as a microscope or telescope.
powers Christianity. The sixth of the nine orders of angels in medieval angelology.
Archaic. An armed force.

Operated with mechanical or electrical energy in place of bodily exertion: a power tool; power car windows.
Of or relating to the generation or transmission of electricity: power companies; power lines.
Informal. Of or relating to influential business or professional practices: a pinstriped suit with a power tie; met with high-level executives at a power breakfast.

Idiom:
powers that be
Those who hold effective power in a system or situation: a plan vetoed by the powers that be.


The first type of power we will discuss fits under the definition "The ability or official capacity to exercise control; authority."

We will assume this "power" is a noun. Lets call it C-Power.(controlling power)

Now, C-Power is the most often talked about kind of power on this website. "A man is always in control." That phrase appears so often on this website, but who actually knows what it means?

In control of what?

The situation!

Okay, and how do you gain control of a situation?

You control the factors involved!

Since most of us can't control many events, we learn to control the people causing the events.

We don't control people through physical means, do we?

When you meet a girl you want to ****, do you physically force her? NO, of course not. That's why you are here, to learn how to manipulate people, and get the desired effects.

What it all boils down to is NOT a physical struggle, but more so a psychic one. (Psychic meaning mental)

This is all the C-power type. Great Leaders display it, some school administrators, government officials, etc.

Now, another definition of "power" we will talk about for now is the E-type, E standing for Energy.

To help understand this type of power, let's go through a quick visualization.

Okay, I want you to first read all of my instructions, and then close your eyes and follow them. Lets begin.


Look at something, anything alive will work, animals, plants, humans, anything.

Now, decide on a "color" that would bring out the essence of that being.

For example, I look at myself and think of the color Yellow/Gold.

I imagine this color all around me, Sort of like a low burning flame about 2-6 inches from where my physical body ends.

After i can at least halfway see this colorful cloud around the object of my choice, I continue on to the next step.

Now, lets just pretend this thick foggy substance around us is our "E-Power." Anything alive, also has this bubble of E-Power around it.

Okay, now go thrugh the visualization one more time, this time fully imagining everything as much as you can.

Okay, welcome back. Let's talk about something else for a second, and we'll return to the previously mentioned types of powers later.


I’m sure we've all grown up with parents, and have had our differences of opinion with them

If you can recall a time in your life, where somebody said or did something to completely destroy your self-confidence, somebody who yelled or screamed or hit you, and made you feel completely worthless.

Perhaps it was a One-ITIS episode that ended horribly, perhaps it was a bully, perhaps a teacher or parent?

While that is on your mind, try to think back to a time when somebody gave his or her FULL ATTENTION to you. Out of genuine interest they tuned all their senses to you.

Maybe it was when you fell off your bike as a little kiddy and your mom kissed your booboo, maybe it was an extremely kind pastor at church, perhaps a guidance counselor, coach, or even any other random nice person.

Do you remember how great it felt? It felt like you were cared about, like somebody loved you, and wanted to look out for you.


Let's jump back to the E-power visualization.

Take a moment to imagine every living thing as having a bubble of its "E-power" around it, with whatever color displays its essence.



















Okay, what do you imagine happens when two living things interact? Wouldn’t it make sense that their E-Power interacted as well?

Well that’s exactly what happens!

Without spending too much time to think over that idea, I want to first introduce you to another concept.


POWER is a feeling. You can feel power in you. You can feel empowered, powerful, or the opposite, weak, and lame.

Comparing the two, which would you rather feel? Power, or Weakness?


Most people would rather feel Powerful. I mean, after all, isn’t it why you are reading this thread?


This feeling of power is called F-power.

Lets quickly review. C-Power is the power of control, E-Power is the energy power all living things have, and F-Power is the feeling of power.


Okay, so now let me explain how they all interact. (its really a cycle, so there isn’t a definite beginning)

F-Power is like a high, and this high can only be maintained by a constant supply of C-Power. C-Power however must control something in order to exist, so C-Power often tries to reign over E-Power.

Now, I want to talk about how C-Power controls E.

Since all living beings possess E-Power around them, when they interact, their E-Powers interact as well.

What you can visualize as happening is each foggy bubble trying to engulf, and suck in the other E-Power Field. Almost like a competition for territory, each field expanding into the other field trying to make the opponent drain into itself.

Once a Field succeeds in getting its adversary to be engulfed, the winner has a reaction of C-Power (the control of the other field) and afterwards, its gets the F-Power (The feeling of being powerful because you are controlling the looser E-Power field.)



Have you ever heard someone say "Oh I loose all my power when so-and-so does something."

Now you can imagine their E-Power actually LOOSING to the other power.

While you are still following what I say, let me give a short example of how this would work.

The scene is two people are arguing about which pencil is better to use.

p1 has an e-power field
p2 has an e-power field.

The two people meet. At this point you would imagine their colored E-power bubbles to be around them.

p1 says: "Why are you using that wooden pencil? It writes like crap." At this point you can imagine person1's E-Power field to "reach-out" and invade some space previously occupied by person2's field.

p2 would also feel the attack on his "power" and notice how he felt less powerful. At this point he can surrender, or he can fight back.

p2 says: "No, my wooden pencil writes better than the mechanical one because the tiny lead keeps breaking in your stupid pencil."

Now you would watch p2's field encroach on p1's fields territory.

Both of these are driven by the desire for F-power, which as you remember depends on how they can control the E-type.

p1 replies: "That's because your hand is so fat, you cant press gently on the mechanical pencil."

At this point, we will observe again p1's field win some of p2's territory, but for the sake of time, well say p2 shall loose.

p2 is hurt by this, and replies with: "Shut up"
As this doesn't encroach any on p1's E-power, p1 decides to take another blow.

p1 says "I thought you were all about saving trees, and here you are wasting wood by getting pencils, when all you really need is this one mechanical pencil which you can use for life. No trees killed at all. So see, you are a hypocrite."

Now, we watch person1's Field expand completely into person2's field and then shrink back to normal while bringing with it the E-Power of person two.

This way, we now watch person2's E-power not remain stationary, but start flowing into the E-power of person two.

This, as we already know, builds C-Power (because p1 has gained the control) and then results in a state of F-Power (the feeling of being so powerful)

Okay, now that we somewhat can imagine how a being is controlled by power, we come to GIVING AWAY power.



This world is interesting, how many people are constantly competing for power, whether its nations, or businessmen, or high school kids, it seems everyone is trying to gain the control, and then the feeling of power.


And there is a good reason behind it. Its all quite simple.

It feels good being powerful.

Isn't that true?

And the opposite is also true. It feels bad being powerless.

Remember the two examples of when somebody made you feel horribly, and when someone gave you their attention and made you feel good.

This is what happened. At first you got your power taken away, we already know how this is imagined, and in the other case, somebody GAVE YOU HIS OR HER POWER.

Now, how can we imagine this?

Well, its all rather simple, lets set up an example.

Lets imagine you are watching a couple on a date. They are talking, and then you start to imagine their E-Power.

You can see the little bubble fields around them, and then as you watch the male entrance his date, you notice her IL rise, you notice her body posture change, you notice how she makes eye contact, how she’s paying attention, but most importantly you notice her E-Power field drifting into the power field of the man!

And now, remember the time when somebody paid attention to you out of genuine curiosity, remember how incredible it felt?

You now know they really started giving you their E-Power, which gave you C-power, which triggered the F-Power.

This was quite a long post; I hope you found it interesting.

As an exercise, go around and imagine peoples E-power. Try to really see it. Don't use "rational" thinking to decide what that field should look like, just trust your intuition on this.

You will be amazed at how different situations cause different variations in the shifting of powers.

Practice this for 5days, and after that period I shall post a thread, continuing this, explaining how to GIVE YOUR POWER to make people feel incredible around you, and where to get a NEW SOURCE of power altogether (allowing you to hand over the "E-Type" easily, without any negative repercussions on your part.)

Also during the five days, you can experiment with giving people your E-type power, just don't go overboard, and watch out for whom you give it to.
