As this is my first post, I'd like to introduce myself, so hello I'm MichaelangelloB. I am a sophmore in college, good looking, and resonably successful with the ladies. Bored and morning the end of a relationship I had invested much of myself in, I stumbled upon this site and am glad I did. I've perused and studied what seem to be the classic post, mostly Pook, and have found much of it to be insightful and useful. As I believe this site has helped me to regain my confidence and get back on track, I'd like to contribute to the Pantheon of Pimps, for I believe my knowledge too is useful.

As a young Italian male I realize that the gift of romanticism and natural charm is not one that all young men posses, however, the persuit of women is a universal endevor, thus certain universal traits apply to all men successful in the game of love (and it is but a game, and games are fun, right). You may view yourself as awkward, shy, too dumb, too fat, too ugly, too whatever!.... that ends now.

There are too many women in the world for you to not get a good one, so viewing yourself as a worthy date is the first step to gaining confidence. You are a cool guy, believe that. Make a list of all your good qualities that girls should like ( if you can't think of any ask your mother) and if the list seems short, write down the qualities you'd like to have that are attainable ( Brad Pitt's face should not be one) attainable is the key word. Strive to attain those goals, or at least pretend you have them even if you don't...believing you look like Brad Pitt when you really look like Steve Buschemi is called confidence.

You are the only you you've got, so except it and love it. Untill you can do that no girl will.

Confidence is also gained, like everything else, through experience, so get out there and talk to people, watch moivies with guys you admire, study how they act, talk, walk....then go out and be those guys. Mold yourself into the person you want to be. Read some of the other posts for more confidence tips.

A sure way to gain confidence and experience is to date women you percieve as "below you." These are women that you wouldn't mind dating, but you think you should be able to get someone better ( it sounds mean to classify a person in this manner but we do it everyday subcomciously). Dating a girl who you know you're better than gives you the power and control in the relationship, "killing the desperation," as Pook would say. Hence, you will be the one on the pedistal, as it should be. This process, even if it means dating girls you aren't totally attracted to, will help you to see that you can be a sought after prize ( a confidence booster) and will help you gain fundemental dating experience. With time you will come to see all girls in the same light, giving you confidence with everyone.

The salesman philosophy:

Anyone who's ever worked in the retail or used car industry knows that confidence is the key to making the sale. Good salesmen do not sell their products, they sell themselves first, they get the buyer to fall in love with them for that brief moment when making the pitch...why do you think you bought all that cheap crap in the back of your closet. The same is true with women. A woman's time is precious, at least they think so, so to get that time you must sell yourself as a worthy recipiant of the woman's attention. Believe what you've got is the best stuff on the market and sell it as such. The more girls you try to sell to, the more will buy.

Put in the time when its worth it:

Dates are job interviews. Yeah they should be fun and all that, but when it comes down to it you're competing for a job- the girl. Now some jobs are easy to get, fastfood joints hire anyone (think the high school slut), so the interview is often short and easy. Sure you can get the job, but its nothing to be proud of, and is often dirty with extensive turn-over if you follow my drift (sometimes you do have to take thoes jobs though for experience when you're just starting out, as above stated). Aim higher. The good jobs are harder to get and thus take time and preparation. Dress up, tone up on your skills, make a good impresion. It may take multiple interviews, you may even have to apply at different places, but persistence pays off, and you'll eventually get a good girl.

Everyone goes through hard times and we all get dumped eventually. You are never alone in the world, you will always, at the very least, have you.
If you're blue and feeling down because some girl broke your heart, here are some words of wisdom:

Remeber, girls run like buses- you might miss one, but you can catch another every hour on the hour if you're in the right place at the right time.

Learn to love yourself. As corny as it sounds, when you're content with being alone you wont need a girl to make you happy, and that's when she'll come...and if she doesn't you're already content which is two steps ahead of most people.

To make a shot you must first take a shot.

Why not you? Why not now? It's your world, go out and take it!

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Sounds like some good stuff, great mindset from what I can see. I also love that buses analogy, caught my attention.

Continue with that mindset, I can tell great things are going to be coming your way.
