So pimp its scary
Master Don Juan
It's odd how the more things change, the more they stay the same....
I've been working a direct-sales job for the past 6 months now... on the first day, they talk about taking control of situations that you encounter, and to not allow situations to control you (what most people do). What is meant by this is that when you go into a situation, you must have a goal set in mind of what is to be accomplished... and you must go out and do what it takes to accomplish that (in the job it means initiating the conversation, build rapport, control the other persons focus, and sign the deal).
**Side story : My job is door-to-door, and to have some fun, I decided that I would make up a spiel for any hot girls that answer. 'Hi, here's the deal... Santa lost his naughty and nice list, so this year we're using the honor system... so, which list do I put you on, naughty or nice?' Most of the girls would say 'naughty' I replied to one of them 'We've been getting an awful lot of naughty people on the list, so we're going to have to ask you to prove it...', she says 'well come inside and I'll show you.' And she did... Something I never expected to work so well.**
Anyway, you have to have leadership tendancies if you are going be taking control of situations. You have to be guiding people into the thinking that you want.
This ties in with mastering your emotions.... because there are two types of people : 'Those that allow their emotions to control their actions. And those gifted few that force their actions to control their emotions.'
How can you do that?
When you feel fear, you push forward.
When you feel depressed, you sing.
When you feel complacent, you think of your goals.
When you feel failure, you make one more attempt.
You have to make a habit of forcing yourself to get the results that you want and force through your negative emotions with positive actions.
If I had more time I would make this a little more in depth.
