no one will love you for who you are except maybe your family. with everyone else you have to work to build a relationship that is mutually enjoyable. you have to add something to their lives. you can't just sit there. social skills are just like any skills. their is always room for improvement. some people have better genes for them but almost everyone can improve if they put their mind to it.
women enjoy fun, excitement, mystery, good looks, good conversation, etc.
i think the issue is that some people are naturally(learned early on) charming and fun and others are not. if you don't have looks or charm you need to develop them if you want to have women or any worthwhile friends.
you are always going to be yourself but you can always be better. don't get down on yourself, realize that no matter how good you get you can always be better. there is no such thing as perfection. self-improvement is more of a hobby or habit as opposed to a means to an end. its an ongoing process. its part of human nature to never be completely satisfied for long periods of time so just accept it. super succesful people never stop improving themselves. they are always setting new goals and re-assesing their performance. always attacking new challenges. its all about climbing the ladder, triumph after triumph. its fun to climb. you'll stop to rest and enjoy the view every once and while but your happiest when your climbing. don't ever think that you'll be happy if and when(buy that house, marry that girl, etc).
i think this is a part of our psychology that evolved to make us hunt and compete for mates. you get a desire to go out and have an adventure and kill a beast. its fun and exciting and you bring the meat back. maybe you rest for a day and enjoy feasting, bone some hot women wearing animals skins. pretty soon you get restless , you yearn for the hunt, you want to kill something bigger and better, maybe find some new hunting grounds. maybe you make cave paintings and you are always trying draw better.
think about it. if one dude was easily satisfied and another dude wasn't who do you think would get the cave punani. one dude goes kills a rabbit and feeds himself and says its been a good day. the other dude has a craving to hunt some huge ass beast and goes and slays it. a few days he wants to hunt again but he's bored hunting the huge beast he killed a few days ago so i goes out and kills some crazy exotic beast.
which dude will impress the cave chicks better and get the cave snatch?
i think a lot of people hijack this natural ambition and seek adventure and conquest in video games, tv, drugs, etc. wake up dudes, your thirst for novelty and challenge is supposed to make you go out in the world and make real conquests.
just work on improving yourself at a rate that is challenging but not too stressful. set goals that will require hard work but are still achievable.
with anything in life, if you are not getting what you want you have to change something. the only thing you have control over is yourself so thats where the change has to originate. people and the world are not going to change for you.
