How long ago was this? It should of cleared away by now. I'm sure if he went to a doctor they could prescribe something to get rid of it, or perhaps burn or freeze the infectious lump off. I had an STI for 6 months called molluscum contagious that caused a bunch of red lumps on my pubic region. Luckily most of them went away naturally and left little to no visible scars, but unfortunately there was two lumps that stayed right on my shaft, I thought they'd go away over time but they never did so I went to the doctor and got them frozen off. Now I have no lumps just two tiny scars barely even visible on my shaft. I'm sure they would do something similar. Honestly, if I he was just straight up with his partners about it, I don't think it would be a problem. It's better than him trying to hide it then her feeling a lump and instantly thinking "OMG STD!" Know what I'm saying?

haha yus, was waiting for someone to say it was my lump and be an unhelpful pr!ck, but anyway he is getting it sorted well he told me he was but he said it not going away but the doctor won't go at it with a scalpel (ouch) for a month or something till he sure the medication won't work.

I was just pretty much asking whether it's better to be open about it or hide it?

just tell your friend to make love normal style, UNDER THE BEDSHEETS! Everyone wants to imitate what they see in porn now a days basically having sex in plain view naked rather than in the bed covered with bedsheets, but remember they do it this way cause they gotta film it! in the old days the guy would be in bed naked waiting for the girl, and the girl would come out of the restroom with her hot lingerie and ask "how do you like it?"

Tell your friend to keep it old school. Tell him to start with kissing then him opening up the bedsheets and making the first move in getting inside the bedsheets then taking off his clothes real fast. The girl will follow his lead and as she is taking off her clothe he can put in the condom as she is taking away her shirt or whatever she won't even see his penis. If she ends up seeing all of your naked body later on then just explain the lump situation, at least you would have done her for a bit by then.
