"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

So, after reading the DJ discussion forums last night, I embarked for my morning 1.5 hour subway commute to work. At first I was afraid to approach girls like I usually am. But then I saw an HB8 and thought what the heck, u only live once. She had a tote bag that said columbia on it, so I just walked right up to her and said "Do you go to columbia?" All of the sudden she perked up and said "I already graduated" so we talked for a while. And at one point I obviously introduced myself.

I said, Hi, my name is Doug. And extended my hand out with the palm up. This "girl handshake" seems to be some sort of secret handshake that automatically gets you out of the friend zone. Although, some girls don't seem to know about it and try to initiate the
business handshake. I forget them.

I talked to an HB4 and she thought I was psycho, but I didn't even think she was hot and she seemed kinda weird so I didn't care about that as she was merely someone I was practicing on. She also didn't know how to do the girl handshake and tried to do a business one. But at the end she said she worked for a pr firm that helps health related nonprofit. i told her that was interesting because i run a nonprofit organization that helps kids w/ autism and she actually but i think she thought I was lying (which kinda annoyed me).

Well I talked to another girl on the train back. I sat down next to her but I didn't talk to her for a while which I know was a bad decision. But i decided to strike anyway. I saw she had documents about ANWR (the arctic drilling thing) and some folder with a US seal on it so i literally said "do you work for the goverment?" She worked for some sort of consulting thing and I think I talked too much but I got her name and she told me where she worked and stuff like that. Again, I initiated the top secret "girl handshake" and she accepted it and gave me her name. She seemed impressed. i know this sounds crazy but it seems like that handshake releases chemicals in people that makes sure they don't get into the friend zone.

I can't believe how EASY this is! I didn't even care about succeeding with the the girls since I was just using them for practice and boom, instant success. This is freaking amazing.

Anyone else think the metro is a good way to pick up chicks?

I don't know if I could have gotten a #close but we all have to start somewhere!

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

what you do is stick out your hand with your hand at a 45 degree angle inwards. Make sure she can see your palm when its facing up.

I think it metaphorically or mentally shows you are open or have nothing to hide or something. Its also less formal and more social.

I want to clarify something. I AM NOT HERE TO PICK UP CHICKS.

Here is an excerpt of a PM i sent over this site:
I am here because I don't want to be insecure about being single. I've got a great life, an amazing job with an amazing internet company which I'm sure you've heard of.

I have my own business and I'm starting my own nonprofit organization. Because of the web business I started when I was in High School I could quit my job and never have to work again.

I've been interviewed on national TV shows and have been profiled in national newspapers. I'm also a full-time college student and will turn 20 soon.

Yet somehow, I ended up with low self esteem and plenty of self doubt. Women are only one aspect of this, but despite my accommplishments, I used to think I couldn't be complete without a woman.(i'm starting to change because of this site but also because of the fact that I recently got hired by a high profile company and I now have some pretty cool responsibilites and work with some pretty amazing people)

I think somewhere along the line, I fell into the trap of thinking that I needed to have a girlfriend to be a good person. I was always afraid to approach girls. I've only recently begun to be approached by girls but most are attracted to the fact that I was on TV.

I'm not here to "pick up chicks." I'm here to become complete without needing a chick. I'm here to become a "Jack Bauer." It seems like that is what chicks want anyway, and sure, I would love to have a girl in my life. But I think a DJ doesn't need a girl in his life to be complete. That is where I need to be.
I hope you guys can understand my goals and respect why I'm here.

Thanks.

The Best way I can think of it is to hold your hand out like you would when asking a girl to take your hand. Then just shake it at an angle a bit. That's how I have been doing it and I notice they like it that way.

Yeah thats pretty much it. I didn't intend for all you guys here to start PMing me to ask about the "top secret" handshake. I said it was top secret because it seems so obvious yet so many guys don't know the power of this simple gesture.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
