So im 29 this year and have gone back to college. Here I am a couple months in and there are some hot younger girls around (anywhere from 18 to 22 etc.), its driving me nuts but the problem is I have a pscyhological block stopping me from attempting to try to pick them up because for a lot of them im 10 years older then them and I feel like they will think im some kind of perv or whatever. I don't mind rejection under normal circumstances because hey you can't blame a guy for trying and I wouldn't care what they thought, but in this case its different cuz of the age thing, i start thinking thell tell there friends some old guy tried to pick them up etc. lol. Ill see a girl look at me in the halls and its hard for me to know what they think of me, is it hey look at that old guy or hey hes cute. Hard to tell and thus makes it hard on me to attempt a pick up. Any ideas, I know I should just make some casual conversation and see how it goes from there instead of a straight pickup, to test the ground but I dunno its wierd and I need ideas on the best way to approach or not approach.

Question, why aren't you going after grad students or better? They would be closer to your age and possibly a bit more on the ball than the teenie boppers in that they tend to be a bit more set in their life goals.

I changed careers by going back to grad school a couple years ago and I was about 9 years older than you at the time and here's my advice: Do not let age deter you one iota. Roll with it and run with it. I'm begging you to do this.
I look a lot younger than my age, and I didn't always reveal my age but didn't lie about it when confronted (OK, maybe twice I shave off a couple years!), but I dated women of these ages 19 (too young), 33 (fine), 28 (excellent woman, better than the 33 year old), 24 (the best and most mature of all of them), and that's just a sampling.
Not one of them complained, teased, or bugged me about my age. Some were impressed that I was nutting up and changing careers (a huge sacrifice by the way, but it paid off).
Now go home, think of yourself as the King S-it DJ that you are, go out there and get some dates with those hotties. Plus, you're still young!
