"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hi DJs! My first post, i'm from mumbai, india 23yo.

This really cute girl (kinda short thin not much of a fig but beautiful face and hair) moved into my building, she's 18-19 and im 23. So when she was new around here i saw her walking around and then eventually said a small lame "hi" and then around 3rd time after the "hi" i straight away ask her out, to which she said "where?" I just replied "a movie or something" and she smiled and said "ok, fine, ill come" and i took her number right then. The next day onwards i texter her a few times and mostly started flaking about having classes or something (which could be true) then i just stopped asking again. (should you ever bring it up that she had said yes then she didnt come? its mostly no i guess that'd be too overt i feel)

Then in a few weeks after a chit chat while running into one another I again asked to come to the beach, this time she threw up an excuse to go her other house somewhere in the city.

Later since she's 18 she kind of hangs around kids 12-15yo (only in the building) and they would play treasure hunt and stuff during which i guess kind of pussied out a lot and gave her too much attention by hanging around once i used to get back from work and we just talked sometimes, i texted a bit giving lame compliments etc.

Then eventually i just thought she's a kind AW and went no contact. And now i think it's been around 2-3 months i had stopped even saying hi and stuff or maybe would just throw a glance at most. Also started reading rollo tomassi's therationalmale since 2months which gave a good game footing.

So today again i was kind of just sitting around and she happens to cross by so i just called her out as "hermoine" she being a huge hp fan and all (chump move right? trying to be funny about what she likes!) and she made some funny remark about me "just sitting around with no work" to which i just replied that i'm chaging my career from software to marketing/PR which i am and i asked her to come sit beside me which she refused..but what's interesting is she kind of stopped by to talk after a long time and i've been working out all this while so maybe i look a lil better now

I'll just stop here and ask for your comments..thanks!

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

She wants nothing more than small talk, and has no interesting in dating you. Be polite, say hi, and chalk it up to a loss, she doesn't wanna play. Look for better prospects, don't wast your time thinking about her, she's not wasting any thinking about you.
