Hey guys, will I've started to become more confident in approaching girls and now, going to up to a girl and saying "Hey, [entername], [insert question]" is a breeze. However, even though I can now approach girls with ease, I'm having a hard time keeping them interested. Take this conversation I had with a girl, I approached today, who I happen to, think is very attractive.
Danielle, I've been wanting to go out with this chick, since she first moved to our school in 8th Grade. I've been thinking about approaching Danielle for a few days now, but I kept thinking "She's one of the most popular chicks in our grade, she probably won't even notice me.". However, today, I decided to take a stance and say "Man, screw this, I'm tired of being avoidant, I'm going to talk to Danielle!" and that, I did. Being insecure about my voice, I tapped her arm to get her attention and the conversation starts.
[I tap her shoulder lightly 'to get her attention' and go "Hey Danielle."]
Danielle: Uh, hey Mike.
Me: So you going to the carnival this Saturday?
Danielle: Uh, no I don't think I'll be able to go.
Me: Oh, well, that's cool.
Danielle: Yeah.
Me: So, uh, did you take the Algebra test yet?
Danielle: No, not yet .
Me: Oh, well, it's pretty easy. You'll do good on it.
Danielle: Uh, thanks.
Me: Well, see ya later.
Danielle: Bye.
or
Katie.
Me: Hey, Katie, are you going to the carnival on Saturday?
Katie: Oh, yeah.
Me: Cool, I've got a band playing there at 7:30, yeah, it's going to be an awesome show.
Katie: Oh, that's so cool, well I'll try to make it.
Me: Really? Cool. Well I got to be going, so I'll see you later.
Katie: Oh, okay bye.
The first one, it was pretty obvious she wasn't really interested, she answered my questions, but didn't really seem to want to put any input on the conversation. Also, I couldn't really think of anything else to talk about that she would be interested in.
The second one, hah, this girl was obviously not interested. When I asked her thinks, she answered, but she didn't really seem to pay attention; she seemed like she was in a rush or nervous even.
Another thing I've noticed is that these girls seem to act different around other guys in the conversation area. Around other guys, they seem happy to 'ask' questions and happy to compare and contrast. Girls don't seem to hesistant to be themselves when other guys approach them, but with me, they seem 'avoidant' almost.
So what am I asking here? I want to know how to interest these girls, I want to know how to get pass the 'random guy' stage and go into the 'friend' stage or even further than that.
If you guys need anymore information, I'm happy to give it to you, because I will admit, this topic is kind of rushed, if only because my band comes over to rehearse for the carnival at 5:00 Eastern.
