"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I have picked up a new habit over the last 2 weeks.. wathcing the Science Channel.. I have always loved history and dinosours and stuff like that.

But I was wathcing, I think 2 or 3 days ago, and I saw something that I honestly had no idea about.

Now, I might be a little off because I had company and wasn't paying total attention, but the world almost came to an end in 1997 when a comet came within 12 million miles of hitting the earth (which isn't far whatsoever in space terms).

It was a show on asteroids.. they said they have figured out ways to knock asteroids from hitting the earth, but if a fallen comet, from a different galaxy were to be headed directly for earth, which is extremely extremely rare but it could happen.. basically we are ****ed, becuase they would not be able to see it in time to do anything about it.

They have to know about Asteroids at least 10 years in advance.. they would only know about a fallen comet in 2... so basically we would have 2 years to know we are going to die, if anyone tells us anything at all.

I just thought that was pretty interesting

Even scarier is the potential for a gamma ray blast.
Because gamma rays travel at the speed of light, there'd be no warning.
Perhaps some instruments meant to detect that sort of thing would pick it up the moment it happened, but mere hours after that, pretty much every living thing on earth would begin dying from radiation poisoning.

The biggest danger to the human race and earth is humans....

Think about it, our natural resources are coming to an end, we have global warming, its quite likely terrorists or a rogue state could get a nuclear bomb, the planet can't support the amount of people it will soon have, basically the future isn't looking to hot.

nothign we can do about it though, may as well get on and enjoy life! :cheer:

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
