There’s a handful of ways to approach this, the first 2 being my favorite.


Universal rule: Your first 3 cold approaches each time you go out are for warming up and practice. The reactions you get and the outcomes of these don’t matter. This takes pressure off of you to perform, while still helping you get into state and become more social.



1. 12 sets (approaches) a night.
If you calculate each set to run approximately 20 minutes, that’s 3 sets per hour.
For 4 hours.

2. 10 sets per night.
Called the “ten-timer method.”
You do 10 sets each time you go out, and you can’t leave until you’ve done 10.
The first 3 approaches don’t matter, they’re practice for getting your state up and into a social mood.

3. Intermediate/Advanced: less approaches, higher quality.
You don’t aim for any particular number of approaches, you just approach when you feel like it and see a girl attractive enough to captivate you.
Do not use this approach if you suffer from approach anxiety. This is for guys who are getting consistent success and don’t have an issue with approach anxiety.



4. Advanced: Approach 20-30 sets PER DAY.
I have only known a few guys who consistently did this, simply being capable of doing that many approaches is rare, but then the logistics and the amount of time it takes, you have to be dedicating enough hours to pick up like it is a job.

20-30 per day seems like an awful lot...but I'm not knocking it. :up:

I think there was a miscommunication, my fault.

The ”warm up” approaches are only that in name. Your first 3 approaches and what you say and do and the results will be identical whether you call them “warm up” approaches or just “normal” approaches.

Like if you go to a pick up seminar, and when people ask where you’re going, and you tell them you’re going to a “dating seminar.” You only changed the name. Everything will be identical.

When I said the results “don’t count”, I meant only that the person doesn’t dwell on negative reactions. But that should be done with all approaches, maintaining positivity and confidence in the face of rejection and insecurity.

Every approach technically “counts” whether “warm up” or not. The results will be considered and the approach and adjustments made based on every approach, including “warm up” approaches.

I have always disagreed about the concept of a warm up approach. I don't want to waste a "warm up approach" on a physically attractive woman. There are other ways to get into a social mood.

For quantity of approaches, I liked the idea below best.

Former PUA Roosh had a principle that he wrote about in May 2013. He believed it was wise for seducers to do at least one daily approach.


10+ approach nights have a way of burning out men.

Doing at least one approach per day could lower the probability of burnout. Having 10+ rejection nights could destroy a man's emotional well being.

I didn't even know it was a concept until it was just mentioned.

The only way I'd agree with the concept of a warm up approach, is if the guy is socially awkward and just starting off with cold approach.

If that is the case, then yeah; get your feet wet first before you dive in.

But, after being 30-50 approaches in, and you still need to do warm ups, then you need to see a doctor (I say this jokingly serious)

When I used to follow Marquette Burton (The Saint and the Sinner), he recommended at least 2 per day.

In my opinion, if you're not gonna do two, do at least one.

I ain't mad at 10+, but I'm fine with 3-6.

If you are a man who hits the gym and builds muscle mass, it'll be hard for you not to get at least 3 out of every 10 women you holla at.

If you can go 3/10, then you can go 6/20 :cool:.

It depends on how much you want it. But the vocabulary that you used makes me think you don’t have a healthy view on seduction or learning seduction. “Who has that much time to WASTE”, out of every word you could’ve used. It can be a “waste” subjectively if you have other priorities and that’s not one of your primary goals, but if you really want to improve this area of your life, then you’ll make the time. Just like with any skill, going to the gym for example, people use work as an excuse for not being able to hit the gym 5 days a week, 1 hour per day.

I had/have friends who were working 80+ hours a week and still doing 50-100 sets a week. Which is an insanely high number. But he wanted to hit mastery.

Even without a good physique, going 0/10 is indicative of a deeper issue. I don’t think I could fail 10 times in a row unless I was making an active effort to fail.

To clarify, I know people can have bad nights with 0/10, I meant if it was a consistent theme then there’s a deeper problem.

Im an advocate of becoming a more attractive man inherently, and improving your inner game and psychology, which results in more attractive nonverbals being communicated.
