Just wanted to share a little experience (guess you could also call it an improvement as well) I had today during MCJROTC class that made me feel good (after feeling slightly p*ssed). This is not a field report, nor anything of the sort.
Today was the classes' Final Exam for the semester and a part of the final was the YPFT (Youth Physical Fitness Test). Everything was going good as usual until it came time for the long jump (not the run-jump-land one; stationary jump). For whatever reason, one of our program leaders (i.e above me in rank; but nothing but a figure head in my opinion) got sh*tty with the class and before long me. She told everyone who had done their jump to move to the other side of the measuring tape. When no one did as she "asked", she started yelling. One of my classmates moved me slightly over, and she starts telling me to get out of the next person who's jumping's way (even though someone is kind of in my way).
I'm not sure what happened but I got irritated and almost by instinct I raise my voice slightly and tell her to chill as I move slightly more. That got her to shut up for a minute or two. But then, she tries to get back on my case by telling me not to tell her to chill because she told everyone to move but when people don't listen she has to yell. I just view it as her trying to justify being a b*tch. I roll my eyes at her, and decide its best to ignore her at this point because at that point, I didn't care what she thought of me, or how nice of an @ss she has, or if I'd never get to "get it in".
Not too long later I'm making jokes with her, and the whole bad tension seems to have dropped. I was actually surprised when I snapped back, because I'm usually pretty chill, and don't let people or things irritate me. I also usually ignore situations like this but not today. Feels good not taking sh*t from people.
