Okay so if you're girlfriend breaks up with you via text message is NO CONTACT the way to go?
That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
She didn't even had the courtesy to at least call you ? That's straight disrespect.Aesthetix29 said:Okay so if you're girlfriend breaks up with you via text message is NO CONTACT the way to go?
This woman dumped you via text. You should BLOCK her on all platforms and if she attempts to contact you in the future, which she likely will, you shouldn't even give her the time of day. Resist the urge to look at her FB page. It only leads to more checking and will piss you off more and more as time goes on.Aesthetix29 said:Well got the text on Monday and not heard anythings as of yet... Because she's likely with someone else. And she might feel bad or awkward having contact with you It is disrespectful as I would never break up with someone by text unless we had just been on a few dates. Girls don't like confrontation. If she can avoid awkwardness or confrontation she will dump you by text. A few hours after the text she changed her relationship status on Facebook, although we are still friends on there I havnt blocked her. You should block her. And change your FB settings to private. I don't want to look like I'm butthurt. Who cares how you look? Do you think she cares how she looks to you? No. She doesn'tDo you actually think she'll contact me again at some point? Probably, when she needs some attention/validation or things aren't working out with the new guyShe didn't even give me any closure as too why?Because she's self centered and only cares about herself That's the worst ... I'm assuming she's with someone else or maybe an ex stepped up or maybe she cheated on me and did it by text out of a guilty conscience.... Who knows? Probably. If she's the branch swinging type she wouldn't let go of one guy unless she had another lined upThe stupid thing is that things were going good and at first we took things slow like not meeting her 4 year old son as it wouldn't be fair on him... But eventually she introduced me then within a month she finished it. Dumped by a single mother? She did you a favor in the long runSeriously what's all that about?
