No CGI was used in this film

There is a recent trend among Hollywood movies to say that there was no CGI used, to appeal to the broad audiences who desire practical effects and authenticity.

But in truth, these films are full of CGI. A shot of a huge ball rolling down a street might indeed be shot practically, but then CGI is overlayed on top of it, with the practical shot used for reference. There is CGI in movies where you the audience member would not expect to see any visual effects, there is beauty VFX where someone's makeup is changed or shave off a few pounds of their body. The best CGI is invisible CGI.

You cannot even trust behind-the-scenes footage.

A notable example of a production lying about no CGI was Top Gun: Maverick.

Took in a screening of Mike Mann's Thief last night

There's a movie that's not been tainted by CGI for ya!!!
