In the end, it's simply a domestic violence thing.

The only reason anyone knows or cares is that he's famous.

I'm sure he gets his contract paid out.

Don't cry for either of them

From what Ive read in numerous reports and heard in numerous interviews, the Ravens do not owe Rice a dime.

Based on what she said, she has acknowledged some of the fault of all this. Let's not place her as a saint in this matter. You need 2 people to cause a fight, not just 1. You weren't there to know fully what was said/done. Ray Rice will be play again for another team. The Ravens have no RB now. Well done indeed.
Shes trying to protect her/his money. Why wouldnt she say the things shes said?

And actually you only need 1 person to cause a fight, and it happens all the time.

The NFL is an Entertainment Business, they don't want a few thugs to reflect bad on the company giving them a bad image. Kids look up to these players, and when they see a player getting off the hook for a domestic violence charge, they assume they will too and won't take it seriously.
It's a damn good thing they're still allowed to use drugs with little repercussions. After all, I'd rather have a kid who's a drug addict as opposed to one who stands up to his bossy, bytchy girlfriend

Generally, men don't just go around hitting their girlfriends. Lots of them push the man's buttons repeatedly until they lose their 5hit. If he's spoiling her like the well-paid athlete that he is, she's probably demanding more and more of him.

This is a domestic issue, not a sports issue. If he knocked out one of the members of his team, then there should be consequences. Last time I checked, there aren't any NFL stars who have their girlfriends playing along side of them.

How did you not notice that part the first time? HOWEVER, I don't think he spits on her. Look at her reaction? Is that the typical reaction of someone who just got spit on? Wouldn't she at least try to wipe it off or something?

Okay, apparently now it appears that the initial contact between the two was initiated by Rice.
That's incidental contact! Come on!

Oh boy. Gooddell is about to lose his job for this.

EDIT - http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/11503496/ray-rice-spat-face-fiancee-twice-punch-lines-reports

And to all the Ray Rice apologists. Security staff for the casino analyzed the tape, and if you zoom in, you see Ray Rice spit on Janay before she smacks him. So guess who started all this? And then the dude spit on her again in the elevator.

So this punk is spitting on and then hits a woman. Yet so many were buying his story that she spit and hit first. I would really like to see anyone defend Rice and bash Janay after looking at the video closeups. Rice was drunk and belligerent and started all this...yet someone certain posters made this all about women hitting spitting and running their mouth.

From what I saw Ray did plenty of spitting, hitting and running his mouth. Itll be hard for another team to pick him up next year.

Jaylan, I called this out in my first post in this thread.

You have a group of men who hate women, so she will be in the wrong no matter what. These guys feel it's ok to smack chicks around and beat them up no matter what.

They want NFL Players to get off the hook for that with nothing held aganist them. But the average dude will be severely punished if he tried to do that. Doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Some will talk about "Retaliation" if a chicks hits him. Which is pretty damn stupid when he knows the law isn't on his side and he will go to jail or prison for doing so. Then he will be in a cell with other inmates who can punish him.

Jaylan said:
Many people will talk to the press for the right price. If its true the NFL had this tape months ago, why lie about it and why give Ray Rice such a light punishment to begin with?
Because, it's all a PR move just like I said it was.

Roger put this "policy" in place to protect his Entertainment Business which is the NFL.

At first, I thought old Roger was going to get tough on these thugs who beat women up.

After thinking it through, I realized that this "policy" was put into place just to make it look good.

Roger wanted to get the heat off his back and wanted to make it look like he was doing something about it.

So, he put in this "policy" in place to make it look good, while the player still gets off with a light punishment.

Then you had guys ranting and raving about players being "banned for life" (which would never happen to big time star players), feminism, men being reduced to second class citizens, Liberalism, and all this other nonsense.

There was nothing to this "Policy", it was only a PR move just like I said it was.

I bet they all feel pretty stupid about that now, but will still defend their ridiculous position twisting their argument to appear to look correct.

Well, Rascal was right again.

Running backs are a dime a dozen in the draft and Rice was about to hit the wall anyway - he's 27. That + terrible publicity means Oakland at best.

Just like I said defending excuses. Here's the first one already. Sammy dosn't mention that he was wrong though.

Freedom pre-exists government. Politicians don't "give" your rights to you.

That's just one of many ways you are wrong.

No, I am not wrong. I wasn't wrong about anything. I was 100% correct.

Yes, they do Sammy because they make the laws that affects your freedom.

Back in the old days you could have a duel with pistols to settle a dispute. Do that now and you will go to prison. Politicians made laws that made that illegal just like having several wives.

The Patriot Act which is a Republican ideology supported by many Democrats takes away your freedoms and rights as an individual.

You are wrong. I suggest you brush up on your knowledge of how our government works Sammy.

Uh oh I smell a jealous playa hater. Your attempt at c@ckblocking aside. She married him, she loves him, she's defending him, she's fvcking him and NOT you. And that just eats you up doesn't it?

Why are you trying to take this woman's happiness away? Are you a misogynist? Why do you hate this woman? Are you a racist?

If I wasn't such a nice guy I'd almost be tempted to report your misogynistic and racist post to a mod Jaylan style.

No, it's because he knows what's best for her. What she wants, and what she needs. He knows her, man. Just like the feminists and the rest of the PC media does. And all the social media twerps. Their opinion is what really matters.

It's America's Imperialist bent in all facets, always wanting to get into everybody's business...Libya, Iraq, Ukraine, it's always "We know what's best for you" "for your own good" "freedom and democracy" "IN OUR OPINION" is left out when they say, "This is how you should Be/how you should Live." "We know what's best for You."

You wanna beat your wife and have the media, cops, and politicians stay out of it? Dont be a high profile athlete then. When youre a celebrity in the nations biggest sport, and youre supposed to represent a franchise in a proper respectable way, you wont get away with acting like a violent sh!tbag.

When you have moms and dads driving their kids to football practice, you cant be a wife-beater in the NFL. Ray Rice got what he deserved. He started the bullcrap...he spit on the woman...and when she defended herself, he spat on her again and then punched her out. He's a b!tch made punk and he wouldnt dare try that in the locker room, on the field, or in a bar somewhere.

How anyone can sit and b!tch about America, the media, or complain about Janay Rice is beyond me. Lord knows that if the video showed she started the whole mess, dude would be quick to bash her and start talking about abusive women. But security officials for the hotel saw a big dude on camera, spit on a woman, then try to intimidate her, and then knock her out.

Ill say it again....Ray Rice is a b!tch made punk who threw his career down the drain. And Rascal is of course on point with his previous post and initial post in this thread.

My gf said tonight, "They were both drunk. She's forgiven him and gotten over it. If she can, then everyone else should, too."

I thought that was insightful coming from a woman.

WTF?

I called it like it was and that eats you up doesn't it?

You all were proven wrong.

Racist? There was nothing I posted about race. I said a group of men that hate women. And there are groups of men out there that do. Go ahead and report it, There's nothing to it. Any mod can see it, you're making sh1t up because you were proven wrong.

I said this was a PR move by old Roger and it was.

I never posted about this incident. I could care less. I posted about the policy which was a PR move and I was correct.

Do you believe everything a chick tells you? If she got beat up, I doubt she would be saying that.

Danger said:
Right, because thinking it is wrong for ANYONE to hit you first is misogyny!!!! We all heard that she started it, it's pretty stupid to say it is misogyny for judging on that version of events.
Who's talking about misogyny? You are.

It doesn't matter if a woman starts it. If you hit her, you are going jail and will go through the legal system.

If that's what you want to do to have a "small victory" then go ahead. She will get you get you back twice. The first time for assualting you, the second time for having you arrested. Is that all worth it for some b1tch? I don't think so.

Danger said:
Rosa Parks broke the law too, so it seems she has far more balls than you.
When someone is proven wrong they insult.

This is a poor example.

Rosa rode on a bus and had a lot of support, she didn't assault someone with a biased legal system.

Why don't you be our pioneer Danger? See how many people who don't come to your defense.

Danger said:
Are you always so frightened by authority?
Do you always have to twist everything around and make stuff up?

I even said in my post above that this would happen.

I was right again.

So we're suppose to be under the assumption that Rice is nasty drunk (and due to his state of inebriation,) Janay did something to Rice (either real or imagined,) that he took such get umbrage to that he felt the need to spit upon her twice then he dropped her?

Jaylan, you do realize that the public is only seeing the tail end of the confrontation without the benefit of audio. Unless Rice is a sadistic lunatic, we still don't know the proper context in which all of this sh*t Janay. All we're getting is this "it's wrong to hit women bullsh*t."

So what if was a man? If women want equality, then should be treated as equals across the board. We can't allow women to cherry when they want to exercise their equality. Attitudes like this is what is going to cause women to be hurt and God forbid even killed.

No it won't. This entire incident as Shakespeare would say is "Much A Do About Nothing." What is essentially a family matter has been blown entirely out of proportion, with all of these self righteous and self serving pundits blowin' smoke out of their collective asses.

If I was an owner of an NFL franchise, I'd pick up Ray Rice in a minute, (the feminists and their chode Captain Sav-A-Hoe white knights be damned.) If Mike Vick can find employment after what he did, (which in my opinion is a hellva lot worse,) than Ray Rice shouldn't have that hard of a time finding a job.

I tend not to get involved in these mastubatory and azzhole fingering opportunities of moral preening the hivemind is currently bread and circus-ing over, but I liked this:

So I support Ray Ray and not Shanaynay.
Video pretty much distinguishes the gynocratic hen party view from the man logic view of this and so many other situations. We essentially live in a hen party culture today where the moron-proles are instantaneously aroused to ire based on the proper theme, swivel heading around their pencil necks to see whether they are "on the right side" or not. Bleh.

For certain f-cktards in this thread, who commit the same gynocratic, emotion-sopped fallacies time after time, thread after thread, and desperately need a logic class:

1. Pointing out the double standard between how willing people are to knee-jerk over a man hitting woman v a man hitting a man is -not- "taking up for or defending Ray Rice." Anyone claiming otherwise, at least a couple in this thread need to crawl back into your illogic holes.

2. Pointing out that jumping to conclusions without necessary context merely based on genders involved and the end result of what was very obviously a drunken, ongoing altercation is -not- "taking up for or defending Ray Rice," and same about the illogic hole.

3. Pointing out that we have laws in place already to punish crimes such as assault and domestic abuse, and that guilt and innocence should be left to those venues rather than PC, media-influenced, gynocrat emotion-laden star chambers where political pressures erode basic civil rights outside of proper evidentiary standards and burdens of proof... is NOT defending Ray Rice or what he did.

If your first impulse is to equate these types of points and concerns to "defending Ray Rice," then a) you are an idiot. b) you have a figurative, if not actually literal vagina seeping large amounts of estrogen into your brain clouding your man logic.

We already have courts. Private enterprise is welcome to create whatever conduct standards it likes, but when those standards start stepping into the courts' shoes in a media influenced way, get ready for lots of expensive BS that costs all of us and benefits a bunch of trial lawyers.

Talk about trying hard to defend Ray Rice despite the damning evidence. If the genders were reversed you wouldnt be talking about "thats just video of the end of the situation". Gimme a break dude. Ray Rice initiated all of this and is b!tch made. There's a difference between treating women equally when some crazy chick starts sh!t with you, vs intimidating, spitting on, and hitting your future wife and mother of your child.

From the video thats available to everyone now, we see Janay walking and not really looking at Ray, and then him spit on her as she walks by. Spitting on someone is considered battery, and she defends herself. Then he waits to get on the elevator to get in her face and do it again. She takes issue with this and tries to get him away from her...then he takes a swing at her and backs up. She then rushes him and he punches her out. The whole time this dude was trying to provoke and bait this woman. Lord knows if the situation were reversed like many people were assumed, all the comments here would be very different on this page. But as it turns out, Ray Rice lied about the whole she spit on me first crap.

Youre not an NFL owner...and good that you arent, because you would be costing your team money by rushing to pick up Ray Rice.
