EDIT: It looks like they just passed a bill to postpone the collapse. But even so - how is this a possibility? Some really weird times we live in gentlemen

It didn't take a genius to see this coming.
What's going to be really funny is when NY ends up like Detroit when all the rich people leave and New York doesn't have anybody left to tax to death.

NY runs the NYRA which is the new york horse racing association.

somehow lol, NY h as managed to lose 100s of milions of dollars, with literary a liscense to sale gambling and booze.

They were within days if not hours ofs hutting down racing in NY earlier this year (right after the belmont stakes) if they were not given a 17 million dollar infusion of cash by the state. NYRA was supposed to get slot machines since 2001, it's 2010, they were approved in 01 and the state has not been able to pick an operator for a decade. then they did like 1 year ago, wynn casinos, penn national both of which are public companies bidded for the gig, both were turned down for literary, a new company that was formed that some of the state legislators had started. you can't make this **** up.
