"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hi fellow DJs,

May be this will sound like a stupid question.

Situation -
I am in a well payed though boring geek job with a lot of stress.
I am in a foriegn country, no friends, no girl friend, no TV, my laptop crached a few months back and currently I don't have enough money to buy new one. The evenings are completely boring.

And there is a beer shop just near by.And I love alcohol. I ve been drinking around 1and 1/2 -2 liters of 8.0% alcohol beer daily since last few months.

My question is -
Am I F**KING ALCOHOLIC? or no its just because conditions are rough right now and my drinking will become normal(just social) as everything falls back in place??

Has this happened to any of you?/Any of you guys been there?

PS: I am going to another country in a month and I am planning on creating a great life for me there. Also, I think its easier to change habits when you shift places. Thus, this question.

Thanks.

Love & Peace

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Can you go without alcohol? If you cant, then you are probably an alcoholic. If you can then I would say you probably should stop drinking so regularly.

Hi, thanks for the replies guys.

Skel - By going without alcohol do you mean having a physical dependence on alcohol, like smokers have on cigarettes? Then no I can easily go without it.

My problem is that Its so f***king boring around here that my Internal Dialog talks me into drinking again as there is nothing more worthwile to do.

Just so souave - Thats what I am gonna do buddy, the whole don juan life style, an pretty soon ;)
I just wanna make make sure I am not carrying a bad habit with me while winding up from here.

PS: What the hell is alcoholic exactly? For I have seen a lot of alcohol lovers, the party guys but not a lot of alocholics who are physically dependent on that chemical. So where is that f***king invisible line?

Party people are considered binge drinkers in my experience.

if you want to meet people you have to get out and do it and stop thinking about it. Join a club, sports team, gym etc etc. Make your life more interesting and people will be more interested in your life. No offense but who would want to meet a person who drinks alone at night? I hope you get what I am saying and not take it personal. This forum is about improving yourself, but we can't do it for you. You have to make the effort and do it for yourself or else nothing good will ever happen for you.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Skel - I completely agree with all your points bro. No offence taken.

"if you want to meet people you have to get out and do it and stop thinking about it. Join a club, sports team, gym etc etc."

And ya that's what I am planning to do as I move from here in a month. I am a man of action and don't usually complaint. Here I just want to know people's experiences about - Is it okay to vent the poison in such vices when you are passing through a rough period? Or these habits my get permanent/hard to get rid of later on?

I am definitely not talking about a regular heavy drinking lifestyle, rather just a way to relax during rough times.

Thanks for your replies, I really appreciate it.
