"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I realize I just recently started a thread about my ex, and that's still an ongoing issue, but I'd have to be some kind of idiot to not continue talking to other girls as well. So anyway...

Randomly friend requested this HB9 on fb the other day. We have a few mutual friends and she popped up on the "People You May Know" thing. Honestly I wouldn't have requested her if she didn't have an interesting haircut (one of those shoulder length layered deals with the very side of her head buzzed, it intrigued me). She responded to the request within a few minutes. Sent her this message:

Me: we have a few mutual friends but I honestly sent you a request because of your ballin haircut. thanks for the add hun.
Her: well thank you my dear :D :D :D

And then we chatted for a short bit about general stuff. She said she doesn't usually like going out much around where we live because the places suck (they kind of do). I said I usually go to *nearest major city* instead because bar/clubs there are better, and she should join me next time. She she said her and her best friend are going there for New Years and if she likes it "maybeeeee I could be convinced to go again :D". We had like two more exchanges about movies and then she stopped responding. It was about 9pm on a Sunday; I have no idea what time this chick goes to bed, or if she just got bored or what. But overall I think it went fairly well.

How should I proceed from here?

EDIT
I also changed my profile picture today and she "liked" it within about 30 seconds.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Also, I didn't number close and I should have. I dropped the ball on that one and now that's my goal. Number and a date.

Good tips. I don't usually like anything on girls pages anyway.

Not sure how to open when I message her though since I missed the opportunity in our first conversation. I don't want too much useless chit chat, but I also want a smooth transition.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

This is how i got the number. I asked for it without previously chating, she replied saying that she needs to get to know me first over fb, to which i replied: cool, we ll talk sometime. And i logged off. Week later, i initiated the chat convo, it was late, 2 or 3 am and i remember being drunk. We were chatting about random stuff for like 30 mins and than she said.. HB: its late, i m going to sleep, good night :p ME: can i have a goodnight kiss? HB: :** Can i have one too? :D ME: Not over facebook HB: In person? A kiss on a cheek for start ME: I will think about it HB: How come you are asking me for a kiss and you dont even have my phone number? ME: You didnt want me to have it HB: Here it is ****** Sorry for the messed up text, im typing from my crappy phone

Messaging her often gives off the vibe that you are too readily available.

Scarcity is your friend.

She was probably initially interested but when you kept going and going she was able to tell how available you were to her, and that's why she stopped responding.

Always leave them wanting more. Don't exchange personal conversation through messages. Flirt just enough to get her interested and then close with you all meeting up.

I'll take that as a "wait a day or two to contact her" lol. Thanks man. You're right about all this. I've definitely noticed that the more idle chat with no clear goal, the more a girl will tend to just taper off the convo.
