Hey Ya'll, just wanted to share what happened to me yesterday and it is a success story about leaving ones' comfort zone.
I was in a cafe yesterday in Cambridge, Mass for a monthly meetup for a club I belong to. Last month, there as this hot waitress (she was foreign and looked Middle Eastern) I did not really talk to her, but thought I had some good eye contact.
So, yesterday, was the next monthly meetup. The same girl was there yesterday and she was our waitress. Everytime she came over, I made a point to look into her eyes and she would always look back at the last moment and we would lock eyes for about a second. I senses a hint of interest level on her part.
So, the whole time during the meeting, my mind was saying....Just Fukk it...although I did not really talk to her, I was going to ask her out for a cup of coffee before I left. Of course, all the critics were entering my head..."No, you would look stupid, you barely talked to her or That guy behind the counter could be her boyfriend. However, the DJ side of me kept saying Fukk it, in order to be successful, one has to leave their comfort zone!!
So here it goes.....
As I was getting up to leave I went over to her and said her check was ready and then I asked her to come towards me:
Me: So, what is your name?
Her: Rosita (or something)
Me: I know you do not really know me and if you do not mind but maybe we can go out for some coffee sometime?:
Here, she got confused and thought I wanted to have a cup of coffee added to my tab.
Me: No, I meant me and you?
Her: Smiling and blushing a little bit...oh.....no, I have a boyfriend, sorry.
I think she was a little embarassed because she went right behind the counter and I turned around and left.
The moral of the story: No, I did not get the date, but now I know where this girl stands and can scratch her off the list. If I failed to ask her out, I would be wondering "what if" What if, she would of said yes, etc. I see this as 100% victory since I agreed to leave my "comfort zone" and I reached my goal. It is better to get rejected or fail trying, than not trying at all.
Remember, do not ever let a situation come down to "what if", just FUKK IT!!!!
