"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

OK, there's this 19 years old girl I met on the internet and later found out we actually go to the same university. She's a beauty (a model) and also seems very nice and incredibly smart.

A couple of days ago we exchanged a few mails and she invited me to an autoshow she's doing. She was also very curious about my date with some other girl I mentioned earlier.

So I meet her - kiss her on the cheek, we talk a little bit about the show and stuff and then she goes "where did that guy left?" (I've seen her talking to some dude before), after a while she says to the girl next to her "I should go and help <name of her colleague>, she looks tired" and says bye to me(not in a rude way).

So it seems she wanted to politely get rid of me, if she was interested she would have told me something like "look, I have to run but call me" - directly and not telling it to her colleague.

Later on I've seen her with that dude again. Well, I don't care - she can do whatever she wants - I am just writing it here so you get all the info.

My guess is I didn't pass the physical attraction test - I wasn't nervous or something, my body language was OK. I wasn't like all the other looser guys trying to take a picture of her or asking her for her phone number.

(I didn't ask for her # because she seems so polite she would have given it to me anyway)

Makes any sense to you? Is my intuition right here?

OK, and here's what I am going to do. I'll wait a couple of days if she contacts me again - if not I may drop her a line and check her IL by inviting her out to grab a coffee or sth. I refuse to play stupid mind games so if she comes up with some excuse and doesn't counter offer it's a definitive good bye.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

I'd say you have the right idea with your last paragraph.

This is the problem with meeting people over the net. Forced meetings can be awkward and there usually is alot of pressure put on each other because interest/attraction is assumed since you decided to meet in person. The problem starts when one of the people is interested and the other isn't after the meeting.

Follow through with your plan and drop her if she shows any signs of disinterest. You don't need that, regardless of how "hot" she is.... Just cuz she's pretty doesn't mean she gets any special privelidges.

look out for yourself

Thanks for the reply.

Sure, I've learned that a long time ago. I am aiming for high IL only, cos no woman is worth the trouble.

In this case I want to be alone with her (get a real "date" if you want) just to make sure. The guy could have been her childhood best friend or something.

Anyway, I am pretty sure I can beat any other guy - maybe not in the looks departement but personality wise - to see this however, requires a lot of time spent together.
