Okay, so you've read the posts above, and you're ready to get started with the exercises. Great!
For this week's lesson, your mission is to go out into any setting where there are a large amount of people, and practice establishing eye contact, as well as to approach strangers with a simple "Hi" or "Hello." Here are the specifics...
Exercise 1
In two separate outings, each lasting one hour in length, you will go about establishing eye contact with strangers.
A fun way to go about doing this is to walk around in a mall or in a park and look people directly in the eyes as they are walking towards you. You will find that most people will not look at you in the eyes, but for those who do look you in the eye, you will want to practice looking in their eyes at least one second longer than they look into yours, this denotes confidence. To create the impression that you are friendly and approachable, you will want to match the eye contact with a genuine smile.
You can practice eye contact on just about anyone you see, male or female, young or old. But since the eventual goal of this Boot Camp is to acquire women, you will want to spend at least some of your time establishing eye contact with attractive girls.
Exercise 2
A confident person has no problem saying Hi to a stranger, and since the first part of this Boot Camp is geared toward building confidence, the goal of this exercise is to go around and say Hi or Hello to a total of 50 strangers during this week. Again, you can say Hi to any person you see, but since eventually your goal will be to get girls, you will want to practice saying Hi to attractive girls. Also, when greeting strangers, practice doing so with a smile and have fun.
And to save time, feel free to combine exercises 1 and 2 together, so that you can go about greeting your 50 strangers during your eye contact outings (e.g. Establish eye contact, smile, and say Hi when you are within speaking range).
After completing this exercise (no later than April 28 - one week from today), post your results on the response thread (link at the top of the lesson). Share with the rest of us anything interesting that happened, and what emotions you may have felt (excitement, nervousness, joy, etc.), as well as what you thought of this first lesson.

week 1 day 1, (oct. 7)
whoa, this stuff isn't as easy as i thought it would be. i acquired a total of 6 "hi"s today. this wasn't easy at all, not that i was overly shy, but people actually avoided eye contact, and being in a huge fast pase high school didn't help. it eventually got to the point where i began to stare blatantly at girl's eyes when passing them in the hallway, which felt very uncomfortable, but few actually looked me in the eyes anyway, and when they did they assumed a very timid look, what's his problem. i must say, it was a hell of a rush though.
besides the lady i made ECHI with on my way to school, the rest of the girls seemed to be a bit imtimidated. when i said "hi" they barely murmured a response (i don't know, i hope i'm not giving them the same face i do to my opponents when wrestling, now that's intimidating).
i'm not really into the EC thing with boys, from the two guys i got "hi"s from i got the impression that they either thought i was gay or trying to confront them and i really don't want to have to put some guy in a sleeper hold for trying to hit on me, in either sense.
well, that might not have been very useful info, but when it gets good i'll make sure to post the specifics. i'm gonna try to stop giving a crap what people think and stare them DIRECTLY in the eyes, how they respond is not my problem...i must finish the next 44.

Week 1 Day 1
I started by going in to town and walking. I started out slow because it was hard to say hi. I was waiting for the right moment to say hi and I postponed it by thinking that i will say hi to the next person. After maybe an hour or so (lost track of time) i had 4 hi's.

Day 1 (8th), week 1
Started out the day by oversleeping. Well, as you may know, I had the worst f*cking day of my life yesterday (read the "Bootcamp for the masses" thread), but once I actually managed to get my stuff, find a new place to stay and more importanly, some cash, it was a relief. Had some great dreams that I just didn't wanna break off by waking up (no, nothing sexual).
Anyway, went out into the streets of bangkok for a little stroll. Said to hi's none of them returned. Eventually, found myself at the riverfront park and sat down to relax a bit. Had hardly sat there for five minutes when this old woman comes over to me and asks where I am from. "Denmark". So she conveniently drags her daughter over (I'd say a HB8, but maybe more by non-scandinavian standards. we are spoiled back home when it comes to looks) to 'translate'. talk for a bit, and then we go for some ice cream. I was thinking maybe I should practise a numberclose n her (Danish tourist, she normally lives in Kuala Lumpur - the odds of meeting up are slim), but before I got around to it, she had already asked me out for dinner and given me her phone number! So I am meeting her for dinner tonight. She even managed to sneak in, in the 'I am sorta ashamed' way asian chicks do, that she was a 'bad girl'. So I've got a date on my first day, and I wasn't even trying! Kinda weird that.
Just now, a 6.5 invented some lame excuse to approach me ("How do I open hotmail? "Open internet explorer. it's the start page"). I thought about talking her up, but she was Thai and communication would be a strain. Anyway, right now, I reckon it is just as good merely getting my mind into that way of thinking.

that's freaking awesome you guys. i'm in my school library at the very beginning of day 2 now, class starts in a couple of minutes so i have to be quick. i almost got this chick to say "hi" but she looked away, i'm quite handsome so i don't know what the hell is wrong with them, it must be with the smile, i think. anyway, my plan today is to beat KoSkit's record for hi's (12). gotta run guys, i'll report back later.

Just thought I'd pop in on a internet cafe for a quick update (after hi'ing the chik next to me of course). Getting ready was kinda weird. I haven't paid attention to details like the line of my shave when grroming my beard, what goes with what etc, in four months! Anyway, went with a conservative but classy look with a squarepatterned shirt and lightbrown trousers. Good thing at that, coz the chick brought her mother along! Hehe, pretty clever actually and not the worst thing that could happen, as it meant that I did pass the 'mother's approval' test to ensure that I am a 'good guy' (and she hinted once again that she was indeed a 'bad girl' - starting out with 'I just got a tatoo"). Anyway, I made sure to say the right things, and I could tell she was definitely pleased with me (drinking coke got the nod of approval, so did NOT staying at Khaosan Road). Anyway, she is going to a party tomorrow and asked me to come with her, so maybe I will get a chance to see what she is like when her mother isn't around. Should be fun.
I am going up to rake up the hi's now. Zeus, you don't stand a chance. Well done Koskit for getting 12. I have only got 3 today, and just one return. that will all change soo enough. Keep at it lads.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I know I am good looking (just today walking out to my date, I noticed several women actually turning their heads towatch me. I am quite enjoying it as it has only been this year that has started happening), yet don't get the response. I reckon it is because I say it too late and don't give them enough time to react

I was feeling happy and confident when I got up in the morning but in the shower I started doubting myself. So I lost some confidence.
But I got 9 hi's today it started slow and it was pouring down rain but I said I'm not going home until I get at least 8 hi's. It took me awhile but I managed to do it. It really helps to have a goal not to hard but not to easy either.
Not many people made EC with me today or they looked away almost instantly but I said hi anyways.
I said hi to one woman and she almost jumped out of her shoes and looked around to see who it was but she said hi back, it was pretty funny. I missed some good opportunities because I hesitated. It seems when I miss an good opportunity my confidence goes down instead. So to keep my confidence high I can't hesitate.

great day for me cuz in english class i forgot get bring my novel and my friend was sharing the book with this girl (not pretty enough to give her a rating) and when she ask "should i sit in the middle so both of u can c " my friend said "nah nah its ok" i kno he was just joking but i saw this as a good chance to sit next to a hb7 and share her book while sitting next to her we talked a lil (while talking to her all the concept i learned in here ran through my head)and got her to laugh too and it was fun (i think there is this other hb6 that sits behind me is digging me also and i think she was a lil jealous i was talking to this girl but i don kno ) anyways i got few "hi"s and after school at the bus stop waiting for the bus to meet my cousin this girl hb8 who i been wanted to talk to was walking my direction and she saw me and came to me and convo started this one didnt gone as smooth as the first one but it was a pretty good convo
and after meeting cousin say few more "hi"s and it is hard like u guys said they avoid ec or they look away right when u r about to say it and eveytime they look away when i am about to say it i would back out but i got 9 today and 41 "hi"s to go well good luck to all u guys tomoro

week 1 day 2, (Oct.8)
well, today didn't go exactly as i had planned. it's virtually impossible to get a "hi" out of these people (students). of 22+ direct ECs i got a total of 5 hi's; they just wont hold EC for more than 2 seconds. i'm starting to think that my facial expression/smile during my ECs isn't as welcoming as it should be. hehehe, one example, which really had me cracking up at the time, was when i started making EC with every girl i passed in the halls, one girl didn't see me at first but i kept looking at her eyes as she walked closer, at about 4ft away she looked up and say me peering directly at her, this really spooked her, i mean, she actually pulled her head back a bit in surprise. i immediately began laughing when she passed and turned around to see her puzzled face looking back.
i really don't want to believe that my facial expression is the reason i'm not getting enough hi's. i find it extremely easy to get hi's from adults, females especially, most of the time they initiate it. i think i should begin experimenting in different settings (outside of school). since i have no school for the next five days, my guy and i will probably go on some outings to rake up the next, what is it, 39 hi's now. i see you guys are doing very well, KoSkit acquired more hi's in one day than i did in two, and B9, don't forget to post your foreplay techniques when you eventually get that girl (the one you dated) in the sac, she wants the (your) wood bad, hehehe. keep up the good work guys. i gotta finish reading the Shuma Gora so i'll chat to you guys later.

hehehe. naw, i didn't quite beat your record today KoSkit, but there is always tomorrow. about the smile, i'm almost certain that you shouldn't use the same smile you give your grandma in this exercise. a smile that's too big would make you look like a pervert or a psycho cerial killer or something, don't get too happy. i think the smile should simply be appearant, leaning more to the small side than the big ( it should feel comfortable, thus sincere)...i'm trying to master this concept myself cuz i just checked out my smile in the mirror and i think it's a little too small, i'm planning on pumping up the volume a little on the next outing.
imagine that your looking at the cutest baby you've ever seen and that smile should be in the ballpark, i think.
now back to Shuma Gora.

Nickell, about the eye contact. It's probably not you, it happens to me too. I'll walk by a chick and she'll hold eye contact for maybe 1-2 seconds then quickly look away, and then down towards her feet. I think some people really aren't comfortable with eye contact, until you talk to them first.
Its hard saying Hi without eye contact first, but try it out. Most of the time, you'll get a hi back. Last week I passed by a chick who was looking down the whole time, and I said hi when we were in speaking distance. She looked up, smiled and gave a warm hi back.
