Here’s my story, out with the guys around 5 months ago, just chillin, run into an old childhood friend and her gf's, basic chat no intentions being nice to all her friends, maybe put more focus on one then I thought, couple of drinks later and we all decide to go to the dinner, at the dinner go to sit next to my buddy & the one chick goes " what’s the matter do not want to sit next to me" thinking nothing of it I said "what" she explains -well we were talking all night so I figured we can continue, so I mack it and sit next to her, not really focusing my attention on her to much, doing my normal C&F, she eats it up...we finsh and start to head out, on the way out i throw out the line "If you want me to do you a "favor" give me your #" BAM, cell digits, home digits, where she works, the whole 9, mind up I am not really into her, this is where it gets crazy, call a few days later, some small talk, I explain to her its not a good time for me to be in a relationship, but a great time in my life, I just bought a house, closed on some other land investment and so what, so my focus was not on spending time on a GF, she said no problem but still would like to go out, we meet for some drinks, good convo, all is good, does not want the date to end, go have night cap at another bar, when it was time to leave, she throws me down on the front set of her car and we go at it, in the parking lot, then she stops and says "I can't take u home tonight" so I say no prob, had no intentions of that...OK so yadda yadda yadda, we date for like 5 months, all is fine, tells me she never had anyone treat her this good, this is all she ever wanted in a relationship, and all that, mind you she has not been in a serious relationship for 4 years, really has nothing going for her, lives Pay check 2 Paycheck, does nails for a living, unable to have kids, and to top it off she has HPV (An STD)...here’s the kicker, one day she says to me that she is not feeling it anymore, I am like what the F, so we take a break, doing the whole no contact, few days later she ends it, what I do not understand is why does it bother me, she really had nothing to offer me, but it stings like a mofo, here I am, mid 30's own a house, great job, healthy and investments on the side and I am sick to my stomach that some 35 year old nail tech walks away, and believe me I had my share is ladies, from 7's - 11's so meeting is not a problem, why is it the ones that u really do not care about a future with hurt the most...Sorry for the long winded rant...

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Whether you're madly in love with someone or don't really like them at all, if they reject you it still stings. It's an ego thing. On some level, getting ignored by Carmen Electra would be no different than getting ignored by Tracy, the slow girl from accounting, because for whatever reason, you didn't offer them enough to make you worth their time.

The reason that I think it affected you so much with this girl is that just based on your one post here, you felt like you were too good for her. Look at what you wrote, you didn't say one good thing about her. You felt that you were better than her, and you felt that you were doing her a favor by going out with her. When there is someone that you feel is below you and they for whatever reason, don't desire you, it hurts more than someone that you think is too good for you, because it lowers your self-image. If Carmen dumps you, you probably think to yourself "well, at least I got to bang her for a few months", but when Tracy leaves, you wonder "what the hell else does she have going for her that she doesn't want to stay with me even though I have so much more to offer than she does."

She got the upper hand by having less to offer, but still being willing to walk away.

Very good insite, thats the thing its a shot to the ego, I really did not mean to come across that she was all that bad, she had some good points, got along with my family very well...the wierd thing is that I do not think I miss her as much as just having someone to come home to and hang with...

Thanks
