Don Juan
I don't trust people with advertising on their signature.
I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.
The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.
Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
Now hear this and believe it- she is just as irritated with the fat guy's intrusions as you are, but women rarely will overtly tell a guy like that to get lost so she will smile and tolerate his clumsy attempts.muddy_waters87 said:You know what....you're right man!
I will just ask her to go out for lunch with me on tuesday (since we have a short class anyway). Hopefully all will go well. I will ask her tomorrow to arrange it for tuesday because that way it shows that I'm not desperate and want to do it right away.
Thanks man!
Lunch sounds boring to me, and still doesn't show any intention. You are using "since we have a short class anyway" to hide the fact you want to spend time with her. Stop trying to hide your intentions!!muddy_waters87 said:You know what....you're right man!

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
The main problem I see here is that you are on the fast track to a bad case of oneitis, if not there already. You already built a huge pedestal for her.muddy_waters87 said:Well, the hard part seems to be over. I invited her to come apple picking with me this weekend. It's going to be a lot of fun, so much that I can hardly wait!I really like this girl (it all started when I noticed she was interested in me), and I don't want to fvck this up. It's been a VERY long time since I have been on a date, and I want to know how to proceed with this. I'm very much out of the loop when it comes to dating.
Here's a bit of history...I'm 23, turning 24 soon, and to be honest, I haven't had a long term relationship yet, just a couple of smaller (short-lasting) flings, with girls I did not care much for. However, like I pointed out, I really do like this girl. I can't even put my finger on it or begin to understand exactly why it's like this, I guess there's just something very attractive about her, at least to me it is. She is smart, funny, and from what I can tell so far, she seems like a very nice, wholesome girl...the kind you would bring home to your momma if you know what I mean here.
I want to congratulate you here, first off, because I know what that's like. Proud of ya for puttin' yourself out there. However...Well, the hard part seems to be over. I invited her to come apple picking with me this weekend. It's going to be a lot of fun, so much that I can hardly wait!
... you make it sound like the only reason you like her is because she tolerates your tiptoeing.I really like this girl (it all started when I noticed she was interested in me).
... a true Don Juan knows when his c*ck is speaking louder than his brain.I really do like this girl.
Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
You've been asking about this one girl for nearly two weeks now. Maybe you should stick to your goal of pursuing other girls and forget everything about her.muddy_waters87 said:Do you have any other tips I could use to potentially turn this situation around and make it work in my favor?
Thanks!
You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.
Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.
Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.
Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
Especially if she deliberately leads you on. I understand I fvcked up when I didn't take charge and take her out to lunch that one day. That's more than likely the thing that sealed my fate with her. That's why I'm moving on. Thanks for your advice guys.Iceberg said:You've been asking about this one girl for nearly two weeks now. No girl is this interesting.
All that planning means you are probably still thinking too much about this girl. And dont go with a mentality, of "im gonna set the wrongs in her right" and make her see what is just and proper behaviour, it doesnt work out that way, you should do it because it shows unavailability and chicks respond to that, not to try to serve some justice or whatever. Women couldnt care less for justice and logic (unless it suits their particular agenda at the moment).muddy_waters87 said:I ignored it, I'm not going to reply to that msg, and will not mention it tomorrow either. I will make her see through my eyes, and kind of make her see what she was doing to me before I take her out.
Now, she also said that since she had a bad experience with her ex bf (he broke it off with her in a very rude way, to say the least), that she is not interested in dating anyone. She said she doesn't want me to pay for the movie, since that will feel too much like a date to her...which is fine by me. I will just take this as an opportunity to spend some time with her, and make her feel what I feel. I will try David DeAngelo's trick on this one and make it seem like she is pulling all the strings too early (ex. if she grabs my hand and wants me to hold her hand, I will pull away saying "don't you think it's a bit too early for the hand holding right now?", or if she wants a kiss at the end of the night and she goes for it, I will give her nothing more but a quick peck on the lips...you get what I'm saying here). Anyways...never thought that playing the jealousy card would be this effective! I have her right where I want her now! There is no turning back!
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
