Good evening
I would like to ask if anyone here has solid advice on how I should go about into creating/designing a potential business website from scratch

I want to develop a business on life coaching in the areas of self growth, development, and social relationships

I also want to be able to sell products such ebooks, coaching services and have people write down email and name in order to receive free information from me.

If you know how to do this, please share advice
will greatly appreciate it!
thanks!

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

If you want to do it all on your own, you're looking at about a (good) year of learning HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP (or another server-side language), and SQL. The basics of HTML and CSS can be learned in about a month, since these are not programming languages. Although, you'll need a lot of practice and time before your designs start to get good.

You can learn JavaScript a bit faster by using a framework like jQuery - there are others though.

All in all, JavaScript and PHP (the only two programming languages listed) are bottom of the barrel languages. They are, by far, two of the easiest languages to learn in terms of relativity to other (more traditional) languages. Although, you'll still have a bit of a learning curve if you've never programmed before.

You might be better off getting someone else to create the website for you if you want it done soon. What you want doesn't sound difficult in the slightest for an experienced developer.

Thanks for the feedback guys will look into that. Although I'm no programmer so this will be like learning a new language. I'll try on my own for a while and if it results too challenging then will look into getting someone do it for me. Do you guys know around how much it would cost me to have someone set it up for me?

I personally design my own sites etc, and sell a range of ebooks and offers throughout them. I can help, PM me.

My main site and example of design/product can be found at www.immoneymentor.com/new

And yes, that is me, and yes I've made that money, and yes people pay me to buy that product. It's complicated :D

screw joomla. there isn't as much support for it anymore and the designs are archaic.

Drupal or suarespace are much more better platforms.

for something this small i'm not even going to pimp my web business lol. nor do you need to learn html5 and php for something this small. just pay someone 200-300 bucks to put together a drupal website or tinker around with squarespace yourself

Hi guy!

If you want to do it yourself I suggest you purchase a web design from Template World -- http://www.templateworld.com/ or Template Monster -- http://www.templatemonster.com/ or just a free open source template. Advice is to not choose Flash based templates, HTML5 and Responsive is the best. Pick something that will resonate solidly with what you want.

Then I suggest you use a proper CMS, I recommend Textpattern, because it is light weight and simple to use, can be ran on a shared hosting service, very cheap. This is very important, because hosting service will eat your money, year after year, month after month. Shared hosting is cheap, about $90 per year, and VPS for Joomla, MODX, and other heavy CMS is a lot more expensive.

Then you actually go ahead and design your website.

But here is a thing, having website means nothing, because people can't find it on the internet, you need SEO services.

I offer web design services, I'm a business owner based in Russia. I take roughly 2000 rubles per page, and you do get what you pay for. If you gonna have many pages, obviously I will give you a price cut.

I also offer SEO services, I take money for results, 8000 rubles for your site on 1st page in Google, time from 2 months till 5 months, if it won't get to 1st page after 5 months your money back.

If you're interested, write me a PM.

--------------

If you do it yourself, provided you not doing web design for life, it will take minimum of 1 day per page, if you're lazy or don't have much time, 3 days per page. I know people that went onto designing their own websites and still after a year don't have anything besides main and contact pages ready. So I'd suggest you hire someone to do the job.

--------------

--------------

How much money you'd need if you do it yourself?

$90 for hosting (per year)
$60 to $120 for web design, unless it is free or you don't mind stealing it
TIME

How much money you'd need if you hire me?

$90 for hosting (per year)
$60 to $120 for web design
2000 rubles for a single page, no matter how complex, you'll save if you have many pages, and if some pages are small, we'll combine several for a price of one.

You absolutely can find people that will do you a single page for $10 or $20, but then again, you do get what you pay for.

Another thing, do not think that you get a website and boom, you are rich. That's total BS. You need networking, social media, youtube, business cards, advertisement. Website alone might bring you several calls per month, but that is just crap. So unless you proactively promote your business, it is all just crap.
