Need advice on getting advert sponsoring on website

My friend has an art and media website which has received over a million hits in the last year. The problem is he is paying website costs and not making a penny.

I know that high traffic sites can get sponsoring from advertisers by putting ads or pop ups on their pages. Can anyone with experience in this tell me how to get these sponsors, who are the best and what sort of money they pay?

Or any info how this kind of sponsoring works would be helpful! Thanks!

there are a number of ad brokers out there that sell on your behalf. They take like a 15% commision. I believe one is burstmedia or something like that.
Look for ad brokers and see if they sell internet ads for you, they'll do the rest.
