Hey im new to paypal, ebay and the relation between the two. Ive taken the first step and registered an account for both sites. i have many questions.
1. So you load money on your paypal account, is it off visa or bank account, or either?
2. When does the payment go through ebay? is it instantly when you purchase, or upon arrival of your good? (say you payed, but never recieve your good, or the quality is not as described) what is the remedy?
3. When you buy on Ebay, do you just say payment method, paypal. and they take the money from there?
4. Once the money is on paypal, is it traceable to what its used to purchase on ebay?

Hopefully these are reasonable question for a beginner, if anyone wants to give me a walk through that would be great

-thanks

1. Pay Pal account money comes from either your check account, credit card.

2. You first purchase, then you can proceed with the payment, by signing onto pay pal. Your item will be shipped after payment. Your items can sometimes can be insured by agreeing to pay an additional small fee to the seller.

3. Most sellers have you pay with pay pal. Some give you the option to mail your payment, or pay through a different check out system than paypal.

eBay owns PayPal, the two are connected. PayPal is a pretty safe way to pay for anything and it is recommended when buying or selling anything on eBay.

Adding more to what Gangster Of Love said there are a few ways to pay with PayPal. The simplest way is to register a credit/debit card with them. When you buy something, the amount is taken out of what ever card you set as your default. You can also link your checking account to PayPal. Then you can pay with items from your checking. Just remember to think an account to PayPal before you buy anything.

If your checking account is linked to PayPal, then you can sell stuff on eBay, the person will pay for it using PayPal and then you can transfer those funds to your checking. Thats what I just did. I sold my old copy of Final Fantasy VII for $57.88 and am in the process of transferring that money to my checking.

As for loading money onto your PayPal account, that is possible but unnecessary.

Payment is instantaneous. If there is a problem with the item you bought that is between you and the seller. eBay and PayPal both have some buyer protection stuff.

There is a record on PayPal of your past transactions.

Using PayPal and eBay is very intuitive. Basically you bid or "buy it now." If you win you get an email that takes you to PayPal and then you click pay. It's all really easy.
