"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

by this firday i gotta get a date for the junior ball.

Problem is, that to be honest, there arent any girls that i actually like, that i would just ask them right on the spot, another problem is I wouldnt know what to say to ask them to the ball, guess i waited to long, i just dont know what to do, I mean I say i want to be a DJ, but i have yet to make nay progress since joining this site, so i need to get a date, but i dont know where to find it, i dont have a study hall, lunch or anything like that and i dont have time before school to aproach girls, i just dont got any balls you can say, but i just dont know how to ask, or where to find a girl to go with me

eh this sucks balls, im learning my lesson from this.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

You got that right.

First off, you got it right when you said that you waited too long to ask a girl out. Never be afraid to ask a girl out as soon as the ball or whatever is announced (unless you want to go stag, which can be a blast if you do it right). Secondly, if this ball is not a juniors only thing (for example, if a junior could take a sophmore) you may want to look to a younger element (freshmen and sophmores) because alot of them will feel its an honor to go and wont worry about you. Also, dont limit yourself to girls in you school. Any girl you know even vaguely from somewhere else can be considered fair game, at least for a formal event.

If your really close to the event, ask a female friend to go with you "as a friend". At least you wont be alone.

Yeah it doesn't always matter who you go with. That really applies for the girls. Most times girls just want to go with a date just to be there. The real fun for them isn't the dance but the after party. When everyone goes and parties and gets drunk. Most likely if you play your cards right on junior prom you'll probably get layed. Just pick a girl to go with. I mean do you party at all. If you don't know any girls then your basically ****ed. I mean this late in the game trying to meet girls before your prom may be hard. I mean if you know some girl that your friends with just ask her to go. I mean if you really just want a date it really won't matter who you go with. Most times other guys or girls won't judge you on who you go with especially if you make it a fun night for everyone your arong. Just go to the dance with a friend. Find a party to go to after and just hook up with some girls.

Girls drunk = easy *****

All across the age range during high school is usually acceptable. I've found that seniors and froshes comingling is usually frowned upon, so stay away. In any case, just do whatever your comfortable with. Stand by your decision when you make it.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

I am sure if you ask politely, your mom will go with you.
