Master Don Juan
Backstory:
4 years ago I did a similar journal with a similar title, and it got me all the way through to near the end of the year. In that time I had gained 20 pounds of muscle, I had gotten over an ex girlfriend that during our relationship she had cheated on me, and I had become more focused in my schooling and other goals that allowed me to achieve the grades necessary to apply to grad schools.
Today, I can say that I have become a man that when I look in the mirror I am proud of. However, there is still so much room for improvement, with my financial, social, educational, and miscellaneous life.
In fact, I have noticed a little bit of a decline in my masculinity, and my ability to turn on my girlfriend - as we have grown into a deeply comfortable stage. I have also noticed that I have had a decline in my friendships. So, clearly I need to get back onto the wagon of development, be completely truthful with myself and become a better man.
This will be a journal that documents me achieving my goals for all of 2018.
Here are my goals for 2018:
(note that I will be doing a hole post on each of these goals below, that will elaborate on the nature of each goal, how I will attempt to achieve the goal, and lastly, how each goal will contribute to a greater degree of wellbeing.
1. Re-Channel My Inner Masculinity
> This one is my number one goal because this goal will trickle down and benefit all of my others goals in ways that I cannot fathom. Firstly, because the spirit of the masculine ideal has embedded within it, the notion of chasing purpose and achievement of goals. And so, to re-channel this inner drive, my others goals will most definitely be positively affected by this. This one is massive though, as I have noticed myself becoming conditioned by my girlfriend to be less masculine - and I have noticed it in the way that I am fvcking her. The sex, on my side has become less enthusiastic and less masculine. So, this is seriously detrimental to a relationship, as the sex on my side has to be passionate masculine, rough and for a long period of time, (and multiple times, although we usually fvck 2-3 times whenever she is over.) > but it has also gotten to the point where we have become serial cuddler's in my bed and just watch Netflix all the time - yes we do go out, but Ive noticed we are sucked into my bed like my bed has a gravity of its own, and frankly this is NOT how I want my relationship to be like.
2. Read 12 books this year
> I have a serious problem with finishing books. It is a curse if you ask me. I always pick up books and read them half way, but never garner enough backbone to trudge through them to the last page. There is something to be said about finishing all your books, even though you do not like them. It develops RESILIENCE OF THE MIND.
> So to accomplish this I have to create a book list of the 12 books that I want to read this year. This will be in my next post.
3. Gain 20 pounds of muscle and have a healthy body
> This one I have been slacking on for a while now. I need to get back into the gym and gain me some damn muscle. I eat healthy (take my vitamins and am finally eating a lot of veggies), which is always good, however I do not eat enough food. So I have to set out a workout plan and stick by it. To be a man that I am proud to be I also have to feel good about myself and the body I live in on a daily basis. So, I have to stop being a little b1tch and get my ass to the gym. I also have been going to kickboxing for a month and a half now with my girlfriend and want to continue to do so.
> So to accomplish this I have to create a thorough workout plan, starting with 3 times per week and working my way up > with a caloric goal to hit. I will do this in the third post of this journal by tonight.
4. Get accepted into the Master's program of my choosing
> I ultimately want to pursue a degree in clinical psychology (PhD). I already know what I want to do for my Masters thesis. But of course there are many things that I must do before my applications. I have to take my GRE, which is scheduled for the end of January. I have to take a psychology subject test which is scheduled for the end of April. I have to do some volunteering throughout the summer time, and get my reference letters. I specifically want to do my Master's thesis under Jordan B Peterson - This is my goal. I have a long way until this manifests itself but It will.
> So I have to create a vision board on my wall that will manifest this into existence. This is no easy feat but, a feat that can be accomplishable nonetheless. (This one however is the only I am least worried about because I have always exhibited conscientiousness in the sphere of educational activities.
5. Publish a book and Reach 10 thousand followers on my Instagram.
> I am a creative writer (keep in mind that my writing on here is largely unstructured and mere ramblings of my mind) and I want to publish either an anthology of short stories, or a novel - both of which I have started but once again I am ailed by the curse of incompletion - I never complete my projects. My goal is to publish something by the summer time (self publishing of course, although I am going to contact some agents anyway and see what they think of my work). I also have an Instagram account where I post my own creative writing, and my goals is to get to 10k followers by this time next year - So far I have 3k followers and average 400-500 likes per photo. Not bad. But eventually I want to reach 100k, so I have to keep pushing.
> anyways I will have to develop some sort of writing plan that will keep me on track for publishing in the summer, and avoid the pitfalls of writers block.
6. Meditate for 10 minutes every single day
> I have never ever been able to keep up with meditation, but I believe it is imperative to a healthy lifestyle and mind, something that characterizes a masculine man.
> I will develop a plan down below.
7. No Fap
> this I think needs no introduction. I am completely fvcking repulsed by porn and how sh1t I feel after I fap. It is a fvcking addiction, and the only way that I will cvm is during sex.
> Here I will start a NoFap thread every month, of anyone that wants to join, so we can all keep a report on our progress!
8. Post in this thread every single day for 2018 (365 days)
> I will post in this thread every day. The use of a thread only exists insofar as I continue to keep it alive. this thread and my goals are in that state right now that that are on the precipice of extinction given that I don't keep them alive. I MUST post in this thread every day, so I keep the goals alive - or at least keep the capacity for me to set goals and attempt to achieve them alive, as that is the goal of a thread. So even if I do not stick with these goals, the thread will inevitably be the living spirit of my goal-setting consciousness - and so that is what I am attempting to keep alive.
All in all, welcome to my journal. Thanks for reading. Any encouragement is welcome. Please keep this thread positive.
