My Views on the status of Veterans in America.

When you've got a ton of homeless Veterans in places like San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Washington DC area etc, you've got a problem. If you're gonna be handing out a ton of benefits to illegals and those who cross the border by asylum or something, might as well pay it forward to The Veterans who served this nation as well. 22 Veterans a day on average kills themselves by suicide. 22 is way too much man. We should all make some sort of change, better rehabilitation programs, better health care and holistic medicine etc. America should be a place where Veterans are more embraced than the LGBTQ community, but they are not, queers are more idolized because they made a whole month of June dedicated to them. Mental health should be given these a top priority instead we load them all up on pills instead of teaching them meditation, spiritual esoteric techniques and more herbal natural medicines to conquer their demons.

If I were out of the Military, I'd be telling that newly fresh Veteran to get that disability check and aim for that 100% benefits with payment pension because you've earned it. Don't settle for anything less . I understand we've got a few Veterans here on this board and I just want to say Thank you for your service. You have a unique set of skills that separates you from the civilian population and I'd ask chat gpt or meta to make you a damn good job resume if you're looking for a job lol. Stay humble, know that there's plenty of dudes whose got that University of Hard Knox degree, Veteran or not, and keep a fellowship of Men you can bond with occasionally to vent and let out some steam like the dudes on this board.

Yeah, as Milt Friedman and many others have pointed out:

-Pay vets a lump sum once their service is complete

-Abolish ALL forms of state aid(to locals and immigrants alike), except for the less than 0.0000001% who physically cannot get out of bed, feed themselves, or bathe without outside assistance. We forget today just how rare and tough it was to get free cash from Uncle Sam, prior to LBJ getting the brain wave: "We can abolish poverty via war"

Like dating and mating, the "What do we do about all this?" is relatively simple. Surmounting the obstacles("Vets might blow their cash off on hookers and coke, if we simply give them a lump sum", "Impoverished people might experience discomfort if we get a smidge more parsimonious + Vox's editors may accused us of being mean")in our way is where difficulties arise
