"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Hello all, I'm new to these parts but I just decided to write this after much soul searching in the hopes that others may benefit from my experience.

I was a messed up kid, I had so many issues with depression, axiety, and insecurity in my early teens. Maybe it was from having been skipped 2 grades, being treated like an outcast becuse I was one of the smart kids, I dunno. My older sister, the one person I ever thought truly got me died when I was 13 of cancer so that probably didn't help. Anyway, I was terrified of girls, mostly because anytime I had ever showed interest in them my family would tease me and so I repressed it all. However the week before I turned 15, on the monday I was alone in the auxiliary bathroom of my highschool when a girl named Terry came in and grabbed me from behind just after I was finished going tinkle. She and I spent the next 3 days having sex in that bathroom during school, on the thursday and friday, her friend Karen took over. Guess they felt like sharing the little shy kid, I dunno, I didn't really mind.

That weekend I turned 15 and never went back to that school. I saw a psychiatrist for awhile about the issues I was having, to no real avail. I moved back to my home province not long after that and lived a pretty reclusive life. I started doing courses at an education centre, it's kind of like homeschool that you do in a classroom. I was totally alone there and really afraid to talk to anyone or even look around in class. I had no self esteem or confidance at all. I had friends but they were mostly related to me or friends of my relatives. Life went on for another 3 years or so and when I turned 18 I got a settlement from a car accident I had suffered years prior. A poor kid suddenly gaining a buttload of cash well, it's quite the confidance booster. I bought good clothes and became cool through sheer force of will. I was happy and confidant and started making even more friends. I became an alpha male without even realising it or trying.

Then one day I was standing in front of my cousin/best friend's house when another good friend of mine walked past with his girlfriend. She lived on the same street as my cousin and my friend was walking her home. He saw us and came over to introduce her to us, his new one true love. When I met her, and our eyes locked and our hands touched it was like fate. We clicked. I think I loved her from the moment we met. Not long after that the 3 of us became inseparable, my feelings for her grew as hers did for me. And my friend just kinda watched and waited and got jealous as his girlfriend was slowly falling for his older best friend. Then one day it happened, she and I went for a drive alone and she told me the truth. That she was in love with me, I confessed my feelings to her and we spent the night in each others arms. We never even kissed because she was still with him and didn't want to cheat. The next day they broke up and it was very dramatic, I was still trying to be a good friend and at the same time be her boyfriend. Needless to say I went into what I'd later learn was full wuss mode which happened after all my money got used up and with it my confidence. She went back and forth with him, cheated on me and it was a love triangle that put me through emotional hell and back. Finally I broke free of them and their drama on my 19th valentine's day.

For the better part of a year after that I studied the sciences. Biology mostly. Then I got a job as a computer phone tech support agent. When I started there I was my usual unconfidant self, not talking to anyone. Then one day during training, one of the nerds from the nerdy group in class started talking to me and we all became fast friends. Somehow I gained back my confidence from them and it wasn't long before I was friends with everyone and the alpha male of the place. One of the nerdy girls had a crush on me, I knew it, and she was cute, had a dirty librarian thing going for her. So we started hanging out outside work and then I became uber wussy yet again and things between her and I went to heck and we stopped talking. I quit the job and it was done.

Not long after, I was wondering what happened and so I decided to look online for answers; there I stumbled upon the website of a man named David Deangelo who promised he could double my dating. So I signed up for his newsletter and read a few issues of it. WOW did it ever open my eyes. I had been a wussy, manipulative, insecure, needy, all things that a girl doesn't want according to him. I almost wanted to call my dirty librarian and apologize to her for the way I acted but only a wuss would do that. Then I got a hold of his ebook and man did it ever improve my game. Through that ebook I found many others that introduced me to this whole subculture of Don Juan's. And so I started devouring books put out by various authors and before I knew it I had become a mega pimp. I spent an entire year being drunk and having sex with a different random woman every weekend basically.

One day I was sitting in front of my computer and I thought to myself "Man I need to be drunk right now" and it hit me, I'd become an alcoholic. There was a large history of it in my family and it was like a need within me so I quit drinking cold turkey then and there. I pretty much stopped hanging with all my friends and that was that. Not long after, I met an online friend of my sisters who would become my best friend in a way my cousin never could. She was, and is, the sober supportive yin to his hot tempered cynical yang. I spent the next year and a half or so spending all my time talking to her and studying everything I could get my hands on, more DJ information/psychology, science (my one true passion), and other forms of self improvement.

Then she and I agreed to meet. Now she lives in Australia and I live in Canada so the chances of that happening with me having no job were pretty slim. So I got a job where I'm at now and I worked my butt off saving and whatnot so that last november I could go see her. Well around the end of june she vanished, disappeared off the net. I tried to phone her a few times but her Ma told me she was at her dad's and part of me thought she might not even want to hear from me so I stopped trying. I had developed some romantic feelings for her you see and somehow felt myself becoming a wuss with her, and when I realised it I just stopped. No way was I going to risk losing my best friend. But she was gone and I healed and thought if she wanted to talk again she would. Then at the beginning of august I met a girl. I had met her before, I mean I worked with her. I was a cook and she was a server but we weren't close we weren't even really aquaintances. We both worked night shifts though and one night as I was catching a ride from anther co worker she raced us. So the next day I asked her if she was going my way and she was so she started giving me rides home. Now I knew she had a boyfriend of 2 years, and I didn't want to be anything but her friend. But her guy had become a wussbag and she had grown tired of him and wanted someone knew. And me being at the absolute top of my game, partly because I told her I'd never dip the pen in the company ink due to a bad experience, and partly because I told her I'd never poach because I'd never want someone to do that to me, well I was irresistable to her. We ended up hanging out and then we kissed one night at the river and started a brief affair before she dumped her boyfriend and left him sobbing.

I was on top of the world, I was ultrapimp, master of my game, learned from all my painful lessons and she was so into me it was incredible. We spent every free moment together just about, we worked the same shifts at the same place too. And we never had a bit of tension. Then things changed as they usually do. We got pregnant at the beginning of November, but we were in love and thought we could handle it. Then I got promoted and due to the nature of it I stopped sleeping regularly. I was down to 10 hours of sleep a week. Utterly exhausted and in no mood to be Mr. Pimp. Plus we were working opposite shifts so we stopped seeing each other as much, or in order to see her I'd sacrifice even more sleep. Then it was just one thing after another, I got hurt repeatedly and couldn't work, we were both stressed to the max and started butting heads constantly. I didn't care because hey, she's pregnant with my baby she's not going anywhere this'll all work out. Not so.

I remember the exact date it happened. January 3rd of this year. We got into another fight about nothing and me being in a snit said "You know what? It's over". We spent the next two days in her room talking, fighting, sleeping, and talking. The whole month of january was a rough one. We had sex twice, and it was weird. She started hanging out with the ex boyfriend again and I got even more insecure and needy about it. Then a few days after my birthday about 3 weeks ago, she was upset, he happened to be there pushing her and she cheated on me. This happened a few more times without my knowledge just with me being paranoid and needy even moreso and pushing her away moreso. Then on valentine's day I went home sick from work with pneumonia. I finally got to sleep when a phonecall from one of my female cousins woke me up. She was in class with 2 of the ex's best friends and they told her that their friend had been screwing my girl for a couple weeks.

I phoned her immediately and asked if it was true, she confessed. Then I got a little emotional and she hung up on me. Later that night she was at work and spent the night crying in the bar and she texted me asking if I hated her. I told her I was busy and would talk to her later. Then I ended up trying to have sex with an old friend of mine who's always been madly in love with me but I just couldn't do it. I felt like I was betraying my girl. Late that night I got an email from her, a very long one explaining how she felt and why she did it, how she knew she was wrong and how sorry she was. She phoned me and we talked for 3 hours, her crying on the other end and me telling her how I was glad she was hurting and felt guilty because she deserved it and worse. Cheating on me while being pregnant with my baby.

We had a rough patch for the next few days, I was being even needier and then we officially broke up last saturday night. I went to work last sunday night to talk to a manager, I missed him but she was there. I had dinner and we talked for a bit. I guess I was being needy still and I asked her out just to spend some time together. I told her that I still loved her and she told me that she still loved me when I wasn't making her feel like garbage. She also told me you don't ask someone out after just breaking up with them. Anyway, that night she left and I gave a couple of my work buddies rides home. One of my friends I talked to for 4 hours on the street in the freezing rain that night and he told me just to stay away from her for a week until I started work again. Good advice. So I've spent pretty much all this week on an emotional roller coaster of depression ups and downs doing tons of introspection. I've scoured the net for info on getting back together with your ex, and various other things. Then finally tonight it hit me. The point of this all. The bain of happiness and good relationsihps everywhere....Insecurity. I know what most of you think "Insecurity is bad, duh" but it's much more than that.

Insecurity is the ultimate enemy of personality. Without it, we are psychologically perfect, at least from my point of view. Without insecurity you're the generally perfect guy, example:

Generally Perfect Guy
-Confidant without being overconfidant or arrogant.
-Having humility.
-****y and funny in perfect balance with non hurtful goodnatured humour.
-No anger.
-No jealousy, neediness, clinginess, or paranoia.
-No stress.
-Totally centered
-Totally content.
-Total self control.

These are all the qualities of what any woman would tell you is the perfect guy. The other things, the body language, the eye contact, the posture, none of that stuff matters, you do it all the right way anyway when you're the perfect guy inside. I came to the conclusion that totally eliminating insecurity makes you the perfect guy for the following reasons. Point by point: Confidence by definition is the lack of insecurity, without insecurity overconfidance and arrogance don't even happen. Humility is the result of lacking overconfidence and arrogance. The ****y/funny comes from having the confidence to be ****y but not the insecurity to be too ****y and the confidence to just be funny by enjoying yourself wherever you are. If you have fun other people will too. I say goodnatured humour because when you're totally confident you don't need to put anyone else down. Hubris is not needed and doesn't even pop into your head. Wikipedia describes anger as "an emotional response to encroachment upon one's dignity, which leads to disagreement, dispute, or conflict." Your dignity can never be encroached upon if you have no insecurities. With no insecurity there are no holes in your "dignity wall" if you will, ergo no anger. Jealousy, neediness, clinginess, or paranoia are all things you never feel if you're not insecure. Stess is caused by your insecurities about all these feelings and more, no insecurity no stress. No stress makes you feel totally centered and without any bad feelings you feel content. This demonstrates or maybe is the result of total self control.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you eliminate insecurity, you naturally become the perfect guy that people will flock to. You'll automatically do and say all the right things at all the right times and won't have to worry about it, hell you WON'T worry about it, worries won't even pop into your pretty noggin. Your woman will never ever cheat on you, she'll be to busy being in love with you forever, not only that but she'll never ever give you any reason to doubt her because you'll be the type she can be perfectly honest with. There will be no more need for studying patterns or any of that stuff. And even if people don't get along with you or whatever, well it will be their loss. This mindset will make you naturally the ultimate alpha male without even thinking about it. It's not even about that. Once you master you at the deepest level, everything else falls into place. That's my several dollars worth of 2 cents. Peace.

Hello fellow-BC'er.

Good story... though it certainly doesn't sound like you're lacking in confidence, especially for a 23 year old. Those sound like typical stories to me.

It should be said that two of them involved you stealing a girl from another guy... maybe that's a sign? Not that I'm so good with that either... stole my first girlfriend from my best friend in high school. Ugh!

Wow I actually read all that and I can say you must have got A's in english class! Are you writing an autobiography? That's what the whole thing read like; a recollection of events.

I remember the days when I first found sosuave and david deangelo and masf. I wanted to be the !ultimate alpha male! and get all the hot babes! But I realized the overconfidence of it all and the mental masturbation. At that point I decided it was in my best interest to set aside what I had learned. I was taking the knowledge for granted, and I was satisfied with just knowing that I could pull a few rabbits out my hat and make a chick giggle. Now it is time to foster the qualities that really make me. Good thing I had the seduction community to wake me up, but I didn't know I was gonna wake up twice. I guess that's just how it works, like Pook wrote in some long-winded post: The natural progression of the Don Juan is Nice Guy -> Jerk -> Great guy.

BTW welcome to sosuave and please PLEASE read the DJ bible. Wouldn't want you to get flamed by the psychopaths with nothing better to do that seem to inhabit these boards.

Right about now I feel as though I'm lacking confidence, but thank you for the kind words. Regarding taking girls from other guys; well, it's funny how things tend to find you when you aren't looking for them.

I actually did get A's in English, although just skimming through what I wrote I picked up several grammatical errors haha. I'm not writing an autobiography, I just have a good memory when it comes to my life.

Thanks again for the kind words and welcomes. I'll definitely check that bible out. :)

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

You have a baby on the on the way and that is a huge responsibility, me personally (no offense) I would NEVER marry your women HOWEVER, I would take care of the child with everything I have because she has already proven herself to be disloyal and you guys aren't even married yet.

It's a rough situation, but I agree. Once a cheater, always a cheater, but on the other hand she will always be the mother of your child. She sounds a little nutty already, and pregnancy will only make it worse. She will also likely have depression after the baby is born. I'd forget about ever being romantically involved with her, but at the same time dedicate yourself to being a good father.

Also, the death of you sister, whom you describe as "the one person I ever thought truly got me" is very likely at the root of your problem in being too needy with women. People who have a close relative die when they are young usually develop a fear of abandonment. This can also lead to borderline personality disorder:
http://www.nimh.nih.gov/publicat/bpd.cfm
I am no expert, and thus I am not qualified to diagnose psychiatric disorders, so maybe you are not borderline, but I think you do at least have a fear of abandonment that is troubling your relationships. Seeing a therapist to talk about these issues can only help. Don't let it get you down that you have problems. We are all fvcked up to some extent. But when you get your issues identified and begin to resolve them, it will make you a better father to your child, which should be your top priority at this time. Best wishes.
