My sister got engaged yesterday - we havent spoken for about a year.

She calls me to tell me she got engaged , I said congratulations , she said thanks

She is 25 , has only been in her first job for 6 months and her "fiance" has no qualifications and lives off his family cash , which isnt as much as they think it is

Am I an ass for not exactly being excited about this ?

what you ahve to ask yourself is are you 2 even close to be anything? serious me and my brother don't talk with each other even when we see each other we stay each on his corner, we only talk together if its a 3rd part talking with both if not... meh.

not gonna argue with that , but i have my own reasons - chased her around trying to be friendly and got it shoved in my face because her attitude just stank , used to make international calls to say hi then its "sorry I'm busy having my hair done cant talk" I mean wtf

Don't feel bad, I'm in a similar situation with one of my sisters. In a nut shell, I can't stand the b-tch for a number of reasons. Don't let anyone shame you for this, they haven't a clue what your personal life is like with your family.

Not everyone has a made-for-TV family life.
