I thought you could see who negative repped you the same as positive. That's been the case with me any way.

Case in point, after I posted this "Fortress Maximus" negative repped me. It says your name but nothing wrote nothing in the comments section.

Honestly this whole "reputation" thing isn't that big of a deal. I mean it's not like you're going to put "Garnered high reputation on Sosuave.net" on your resume or anything. And it certainly won't give get you significant points with the ladies.
