Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I dropped my cell phone in my friends dog's water bowl and the phone was f'd. A few days later, it started working again.

As long as your phone didn't short circuit, it should start working soon. What I'd do is take it apart and make sure it's all dry on the inside, maybe even leave it apart for a day or two so it dries off (just don't leave it in the sun). Then, put it back together and try turning it on.

My phone has no problems at all now...I thought it would atleast give me some crap but it works just fine.

I'm with most of these guys. If you've already taken it apart and dried it and it still won't work you'll have to take him to small claims court.

Hitting him would only insure that you'll never get your money. If you would rather hit him than get the 500 go for it.

I doubt you'd get the whole 500 back though. If I pushed you into a pool and it messed up your phone, I'd feel bad, but I'd also say "what the hell did you have a 500 dollar phone at a pool party for?" Also, why on EARTH would you spend 500 bucks on a cell phone? Honestly if I had done what that guy did I would offer you around a hundred bucks MAYBE because it's not MY fault YOU blew 500 bucks on a phone. In all honesty a 100 buck phone will do you just fine.

Small claims court would probably say something similiar. I doubt you'd get all 500 because they would probably decide that at least SOME of the blame fell on your shoulders. I'm not saying it is completely your fault, but common sense tells you not to hang out near a pool with a 500 dollar peice of electronics. It seems pretty obvious that at a pool party there are good chances you could get wet.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Your logic is flawed. Your saying that its HIS fault for carrying around a nice phone, your placing blame on him instead of the asshat who pushed him in a pool.

Its like saying "Yeah, you deserved to have your 2003 Benz keyed"

Its so stupid.

Julian, that's not what I said. I never said that it was ALL his fault. All I said was taking a $500 phone to a pool party isn't the greatest idea. People push people into pools at pool parties. That's what happens. I'm not saying its ALL his fault, but to say he had NO hand in it would be fallacious too.

As for your Benz example; say there is a parking lot that is notorious for cars being keyed while parked there. Some guy parks his Benz there knowing fully of the reputation, and his car gets keyed. Wouldn't you say that it was a bad idea for him to park his car there in the first place? I'm not asking if all the blame fell on his shoulders, rather, knowing the reputation of the parking lot, wouldn't it have been a better idea not to park there in the first place?
