"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Well, obviously im from ohio, and up here the weather isnt up to par with california's. I drive a piece of **** 1998 cheverlot prizm, sure its not as good as the mustang's in the school parking lot, but i love my car. My car was my baby, i took care of it like no other, i feel like an idiot but i actually cared for my car. It was a gift from my parents, had about 150,000 miles on it but it could go to 300,000 miles. It was worth at max 1750-2000$

I was at a party where i had about 4 beers over 4.5 hours. Nothing out of the ordinary, i am a partier and 4 beers in 1 hour wouldnt make me trashed. My tolerance is pretty high.

I thought "hey im fine to drive, might as well drive home so i dont have to call my dad and tell him im sleeping over and get *****ed at by him." So i said my goodbyes around the party and left. I was running late from the point i told my dad i would either be home or call him (12:30) So instead of taking the straight shot to my dad's house (which has about 5 lights) i decided to take the long bending road back-way, which has 0 lights.

I was driving about 40 in a 35, yea its speeding, but its not reallly bad. And i come around a bend to tight, and hit a piece of ice that was by the curb, which sends me into the left oncoming traffic lane, so i pulled the wheel quick to the right. I pulled it too sharp and went into some peoples yards, i hit about 2-3 mailboxes and i blacked out.

Next thing i remember is im sitting in my car with a paramedic in the passenger door talking to me, theres 3-5 police men, 20 neighbors standing around watching, and 6 fireman using the jaws of life to open my smashed car door. I learned later that i blacked out because my airbag came up and hit me in the face and i was knocked unconscious. My car then veered into a boulder, smashed my passenger door, and i rammed head on into a telephone pole.

I wasnt wearing my seatbelt, and the only thing that kept me alive was my airbag. They cut my door off and sent me to the hosptial in an ambulance. The cops caught up with me and asked if i had been drinking and if i had how many. I know from enough Cops shows that they will check you no matter what, so i said "yes officer i had been drinking, but i dont remember how many.(i said this incase i passed the blood test.)" He said i will tell the judge how cooperative you are, and that should help.

I was released in the afternoon. The crash happened on Friday. I have no Broken bones or stitches, just a few big bruises and long cuts on my head. But both the doctors and police both said it is a miracle i am able to walk away from such a bad wreck....My car is completely totalled. My license is already taken away from me for 90 days. But im not stupid i know I will not have a license for almost a year(when i turn 18). Ill have to go to Alcoholics Annonmyous meetings most likely. And i will most probably have to pay some kind of fine. My court date isnt until may.

My life will suck for the next, 10 months, i will have no car, some of my "friends" wont be my friends anymore because i need rides everywhere. I will owe money to the government. Ill have to do some kind of rehab/conseling. And im going to have to buy a new car in 10 months, and start to pay a ****load of car insurance when i get my license back. And im going to have to be the sweetest son to my parents....It could be worse though, i could have been dead.

So please all those kids out there who drink, listen, dont drive, even if you are okay to drive. Because if you get into a ordinary wreck, youll still get charged with drinking and driving. And then say bye bye to your license until your 18

So do the smart thing, stay at your friends house, tell your parents that you drink and you shouldnt drive, get someone else to designate drive and take you home. Do anything to avoid happening what has happened to me.

And yes i know im lucky to not have hit anybody, not to kill myself, or if someone was in the car with me. Yes i know im an idiot for driving when i thought i was perfectly fine.

So please, spare me the lecturing talk, i will have plenty of time to be lectured in the next 10 months.

A bruised and cut,
Ohiofutballa

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Yeah, even though it sounds like the wreck had little to nothing to do with your having drank, they'll get you with the charges anyway. They even charge you if there's open alcohol in your car and passengers are drinking, but you are completely sober.

One of my friends that is 16 got a DUI and lost his license till he's 18. You just can't drink and drive, but so many people do anyways.

I think it's kind of dumb how they make you go to AA meetings and rehab when things like that happen. I don't think that's really gonna do anything. You don't sound like an alcoholic, so the problem is not you drinking, the problem was your choice to drive after you drank. So unless they discuss that in the AA meetings, then I think it's retarded that they make you go to them.

are you high? he was drinking and driving. he needs to go to AA because he broke the law and has to deal with the consequences of his actions. He was an irreponsible driver, and if society as a whole is protected as a result of him being bored to death through some drug safety courses, than so be it.

your ability to drive is impaired long before you're legally drunk. four beers over the course of four hours isn't a lot, but he shouldn't have had anything to drink if he was driving that night.

It sucks that his car got ruined, his parents are pissed, and he lost his license and has to go to AA, but, unfortunate though it may be, he got exactly what he deserved.

nobody but him decided to drink and then drive.
nobody but him decided to do 40 in a 35 zone despite icy conditions.
nobody but him decided not to wear his seatbelt (are you kidding me?)

Ohio, hopefully you've learned a lesson from this experience and others can learn a lesson from this post.

I feel for you man,

I hope you learn and grow from this experience.

Yeah life is gonna suck for you for a little while, but be grateful that you didnt have any passangers or hit a station wagon with a full family in it !

Alot of people make mistakes, just learn from it and life will go on.

sure at that time chances are there would be no one there but imagine if there was and you killed them.

thats why you should not drink drive

and if you did kill some one, apart from the fact well you just killed some one, you will get not only a very hefty fine but go to prision for i i think its up to 5 years, average would be 2-3 years and when you get out you will be left with this information on your police record.

Im sure a possible future employer would love to take on some one who served time for man slaughter, it does not matter that it was not intintinal, for a decent job you got to be completly clean, if you where caught with weed for example, and it went on oyur record, so many compnays what not even consider hiring you for that reason.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I can tell you irrational and insensitive. If that were the case, I would still feel for him, probably even more.

I would not be so quick to condemn a person if I were you.

Sure he made a mistake, but everyone makes a mistake every day. Sometimes they are fatal, sometimes you catch a break and only lose something monetary.

I did not say he does not deserve the repercussions of his actions, but getting a DWI at the age of 17 is a rough way to learn your lesson.

You may not truly realize what I'm talking about untill you are in a similar situation.

It's actually legal to possess up to 4 oz of marijuana in Alaska USA, under state law. Though Fed. Law says its still illegal. Either way you wont get in much trouble. This isnt the best forum for criminology debates and moral indescretions.

The guy needs some emotional support, so leave the judging to the judge, okay?

Basically what I'm saying is I don't think AA is gonna do anything unless it's a specific class designed for people that experienced incidents like his. Now I don't know exactly what they do or talk about in AA, but he is not an alcoholic (as far as I know), and therefore I do not think that listening to a bunch of other alcoholics will do anything. As I said, the problem was not that he was drinking, it was that he chose to drive.

And I think you guys are being a little hard on him. I am in no way condoning drinking and driving, and I even hate the fact that so many people I know do it, but it sounds like the accident had little to do with him having drank. That having been said, he still shouldn't have been driving.

And as for the 40 in a 35 zone issue, most people drive 5 over the speed limit anyways, though not when it's icy out.

ok, ive had since friday to think about my wreck.

Do you guys honestly think, that i picture myself as an innocent victim, and that i dont know its my fault?

I have accepted full responsibilty, It was 100% my fault, I am learning to accept that my life will not be up to par for the next 11 months. I will have to pay an insane amount of money in car insurance, i will pay fines and attend meetings with full-blown alcholics.

But maybe i needed this to happen, maybe if this hadnt happened i would have drove drunk another time, and killed 3 people walking down the street. I would much rather pay my whole bank account, then to have killed somebody.

I posted this original post to vent a little, and to try to get people to understand that no matter how drunk you are, Regardless if you have 17 beers, or a few teaspoons or robitussin, if it shows up .01 and your under 21, you have a dui.

If anyone wants to see the pictures of my wreck to understand better, give me an email. And ill send them to you.

I think the california law is with the three strike rule...if you get three dui's then you go to prison for a long time
