"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hey All,

Well I was hoping today I would be able to do some kind of fcuking approach, but nooo. Couldn't fcuking do it.

Couldn't see any hb's on the train today. But work was different.

Here's the deal. Had to work in a different department of work today. Walked in and this blonde hb, on the phone, turned and looked. We smiled but I coudn't say anything cos she was on the phone. So then later on I thought, right all I have to do is go over and introduce myself. But then I couldn't do it cos I find it impossible to open a collague unless I actually work with them - she was a few desks away. I don't know why, it's like I feel like I shouldn't approach her just for the sake of saying hi. It's fcuking stupid!

Anyway, I went to the mens, on the way past her desk, and tried to make myself approach on the way back but couldn't. So then I needed a sugar hit so managed to approach:

Me: Hi, how's it going?
Her: good
Me: Is there a vending machine around here?
Her: Yeah, blah blah down the hall.
Me: Great. Thanks. (As she walked away, I said "by the way, my name's Jason.
her: Bec. Nice to meet you.

So I went towards the machine, but there was a problem as I went past I said "Better not. blah blah problem"

She came up to me and explained how to get to the machine.

Anyway, a while later I wanted to go up and ask her to lunch. But another colleague of hers was sitting near her and I just couldn't do it. So I emailed her and asked if she wanted to join me for lunch. She replied and said that she'd brought lunch but I was welcome to join her. I declined though cos it was too early and I was feeling a bit crook. Although I think I redeemed a bit of my pride by saying that I'll take her up on her offer tomorrow.

Besides, from something I heard I'm almost 100% sure she's taken. Just pissed off at myself for not have the fcuking ability to ask her to her face. And trust me, it's not for lack of trying. I tryed to convince myself several times to do it.

Another thing, I was coming back to the office from the shops and passed two girls I'd seen flitting around the office. Didn't know them from a bar of soap, but still smiled and said hello. I can't understand myself sometimes. I guess cos I'd seen them around the office I felt comfortable saying hello to them.

Other than that no real opportunities. Train was too bloody crammed to do anything, although I did notice a girl looked at me as she walked past, prolly held ec for a second. I turned around and looked at her and she had her head slightly to the side, not sure if she was checking me out as well.

This is more of a journal type thingy, so please post some comments and advice. Things like 'just do it' aren't going to cut it with me, cos I've already tried em, lol.

Thanks
Maggs

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Remember how it felt when you didn't approach. Next time you are hesitating to approach just think back to that moment.

I would say "go for the gusto" normally, but it is work and you can get in trouble. I'm not saying to not approach and date women at work but remember that you can't be as persistent as if it were a women on the streets/shopping/gym.
