Your biggest problem is your going in trying to gain rapport and telegraphing interest 30seconds in. The best opener I you did was could i ask you a quick question. I bet you everything felt fine to you until you actually asked her are you single. Instead of going in and just diving for rapport go in with a opener that would bring her into you reality and seem like you only asked her because she happened to be there. After wateva your opener is then going into a quick story that DHV (demonstrates high value) depending on the time limit your going to have to try and spread out wat u do. In the middle of your pick up do a "sniper" neg. Gain alittle rapport and then go for the number. Also use a false time constraint at the begining of the opener.

dude I think the "are you single" approach is being used by Lock and by the others because it is one of the examples in the Dj bible. "Daily Journal for cold approaches"

Based from this thread, I am beginning to doubt if the dude who wrote the daily journal was writing true stories.

Anyway, I saw this before but, Wouldn't it be easier to get a girl to come to you instead of you going to the girl.


You see a girl. She not looking at you. You say real loud like..


PSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTT at her direction, she looks and you give the old fashion colbert ching chong ding dong finger

and go from there, There are some advantages.

Because your not approaching and the girl is it gives you higher value, more alpha, gives you the impression that your in control, gets what he wants.

Way to go your on your way to becoming a DJ....the beginning always hurts man so don't trip if your numbers aren't were u want them to be.

It's good that your brave enough to approach women cold but you have to remember that a women will usually tell you with her body language if she wants you to approach her.. Watch her eyes if she stares at you for a second too long or if her eyes drop straight down your in...go say something to get her motor running....Try to get her to talk about her, what she's doing, where she's going, where she got those slick ear rings...etc...

Also when your starting out sometimes its better to not even try and close just get comfortable about getting comfortable talking to women. The more relaxed you are the more relaxed she will feel and will open up to you more...Plus it gives you a way to find out if the girl is worth your time later by the way she acts toward you when you first approach her, (this isn't always true) then go for the close if you want to take if further...

Don't just rush up to a girl you don't know and ask for the digits after only 1 question...That will only work if she has really High Interest in you and unless your Brad Pit or some other famous guy with tons of cash and great looks its not happening

So I would say don't rush so much into closing, but otherwise a good start...

OK. i did more approaches:
Another girl on the subway. (very pretty) )she was carrying some books so i tried something different:
Me: So, isn't time for holydays? (here where i live it is)
Her: Yeah, I just today.
Me: Wow, Is that possible! I bet those guys made you go at christmas even!
Her: Yeah... but ... (she explains to me why they made her stay until now.)
Me: So, do you study at (some university)?
Her: No, next year.
Me: What? how old are you?
Her: 16. but i turn 17 couple months.
Me: Oh. I thought you were older. (i really thought)
Her: Ummm
Me: What's your name?
Her: hername
Me: so, do you have e-mail?
Her: I had but i don't have one now.
Me: Well nice to meet you
Her: Nice to meet you too!
Me: (next station) goodbye! (I quit)


At the subway again. Two girls i sit in front of them. 10 seconds. I can't think anything to say so i say
Me: Can I ask you a quick question?
Her: (smiles) yeah.
Me: Are you single?
Her: Yes!
Me: Well.. I... (I was shocked! this thing DOES work sometimes) PAUSE...PAUSE... (i waS trying to remember this line) Well... you know, I have a friend, i think he would find you pretty and i think you will like him.
Her: I don't know
Me: Well I give me your e-mail... so he could write to you.
Her: OK. (she looks for some paper and pen to write it but i was prepared =))
Me: Write it here:
Her: (writes it)
Me: Ummm... and write your cell number, you know... blah blah
Her: No, I don't have cell I don't like people find me: I find people.
Me: Heee what, are you some spy or something?
Her: He he maybe
Me: well i have to go, goodbye!
Her: goodbye!
Her: Wait! wait! Tell me your friends name!
Me: Ummm... You will know it later!
Her: and your name is?
Me: Myname. Don't frear. he WILL write you.

Good job Lock. That was classic David de Angelo stuff right there eh? Its good that you opened a 2 set because Ive read that girls are more receptive to pick up when at least someone is with them.

Like how your going out and doing these Cold approaches.

First approach wasn't ok but you went in for rapport you should be attracting her while she trys to gain rapport, remember bring her into your reality not you into hers "ur the prize". If you had wanted u could have went C&F off the start of the approach. After you were just going for rapport telegraphing interest so soon so you basically wasn't getting no where, but still good that u approached.

2nd approach, quick question is good but you have to have something good to follow up with. See most girls that you say can i ask you a quick question going to agree and possibly smile. That Are you single thing won't cut it, your showing that your interested, ur the one chasing her, and she now see herself as the prize.

When opening keep in mind that you act distinterested while trying to get her attracted to u by using C&F, DHV, roleplaying, etc. This is why alot of ppl prefer opinion openers because its the easiest opener to use that will show disinterest and doesn't take much thought. When opening all your trying to do is get her hooked into the conversation and then u start running that game of urs. Don't go for rapport until she trys to get rapport from u first and is giving IOIs. IF u would like search my name i had posted a Cold approach guide awhile back most of the stuff is a mixture of some Pros and what i've been doing.

Here's what probably is the reason it isn't going very well:

You can't just walk up to a girl on the subway without establishing eye contact first. It sounds that you are unintentionally sneaking up on them and taking them by surprise. That makes girls uncomfortable. Don't just go up and start talking. You halve to get a feel for the girl's mood first.

I think your main problem is your telegraphing alot of interest by asking if shes single, asking for email, number, have you tried for her social security number yet that could be the breakthrough you're looking for...

I'm proud that you're trying, but you're persistance will only last for so long. You need success! Success breeds confidence, real confidence.

Try--

Time Constraint: "I only have a few stop's left, but i was wondering what you think of this girl..."
Opening: Try something a little less serious "Question openers" that others here have mentioned.
DHV: Maybe a story to generate some interest in you, ESP test or something else very quickly...
Time Bridge Jump: tell her, you seem interesting, we should hang out sometime. if she agrees, you know what to do.
say nice meeting you, i gotta run

Making sure you're body language is away from her, and then when she participates more, reward her by showing more interest via body language.
