Walking home with a girl on the first date. We had just been on a swan boat together and were planning to walk along the seafront.

About a few minutes into the walk, I make sure my arms are coming close to hers. The next move was very smooth: Our hands kept briefly and softly colliding into each other. My hand was a little higher than hers, so I "bumped" into the arm instead a few times - about twice - and it wasn't "bumper car bumping" - it was more subtle. I then simply lowered my hand the next time and took hers.

Of course, we ended up kissing with the sun in the air and the tide in just an hour later...

Don't worry Nicholas, some of us have read the other subjects in the forum.
My only experience (bad isn't it, 20 yr and 1 inital experience so far);-
went out to get drunk, met the girl, said she was drunk, so offered my arm to keep her steady. Next thing I know we're outside, and we're holding hands. Next thing, shes leading me to a quiet area away from everyone else and we end up kissing.
It went a bit further from there, not THAT far though, bit of grouping here and there, but its all good, although I'm now trying to ignore this one cause she doesn't know what she wants.....
SO, short term good
Long term, **** knows
